I mean, there's a mod in the works for Forces that is kinda a similar thing, called Sonic Forces Overclocked, but officially yeah there wasn't really an equivalent, all that happened was Episode Shadow.

The spin dash actually does have a trade off. It has a higher initial burst of speed compared to boost, but is slower than boosting overall after the initial burst of speed. If there is nothing to launch off of, you should be using spin dashing first then just using boost to maintain top speed. Spindash is great for launching off slopes and going down hill, but it outright worse on more even terrain.

4:22 The boost has better constant speed if you hold spindash on flat terrain the boost will go faster plus you don’t always want to launch off whatever incline you touch

Agreed about the new characters, very mixed on them overall! It’s hard for me to pinpoint whether it’s the skills they have, their at times janky gameplay or whether they’re just not designed for the game they were dropped into

6:35 because they weren’t really sure what to do’frontiers didn’t start as an open zone game and it had a lot of jumping around until it was finalized to be open zone in 2021 and continued doing so ‘kishimoto wasn’t even the director at the start ‘other then that they have other games they don’t just do sonic ‘they just aren’t credited as sonic team on those games

Can someone seriously answer this question. Why does Tails know so much about the ancients tech?? Yet not warn Sonic. How does Tails know how to fix parts of the ancients tech???. Overall just don't enjoy the writing, this is the direction for the franchise

the spindash slows down over time so after using the spindash, switching to boost is better. you can also use the boost in the air. still don't like that we have two moves that do pretty much the same thing though

As a big photo mode guy, I gotta say, Frontiers' photo mode SUUUUUCKS. They committed the cardinal sin of making the camera a physical object so it gets stuck on everything. It also can't move close to Sonic. And there's no depth of field. One of the worst photo modes I've ever seen.

Good review! I would have personally rated Upate 1 and 2 a bit higher especially 2 just because of Spindash and Jump Deceleration but I agreed with your points! Oh and if you wanna know what triggers the cutscene to finish off Supreme, it's destroying one of his drones.

Strongly disagree on the notion that SpinDash invalidates everything. 1. It’s not the best way to attack most enemies. 2. Air Boost, Rail Boost, Wall Boost, and Trick State are all still important to traversal and platforming. 3. The Dropdash carries your momentum when you activate it in the air, making it useful in speed runs where you need a short burst after landing. SpinDash mid-air stops you dead in your tracks, and can’t climb slopes that the Dropdash can.

9:30 through 10:32 - Correct.The 3 new characters in Frontiers Update 3 need to be very snappy, very responsive, and not sluggish. Give Tails a homing attack. Fix Knuckles's and Tails's gliding turning controls and flying. Remove the startup and end lag on their moves. Remove the input delay on their moves and cyloop. We need a patch for Frontiers.

Yes... it would? Sure, maybe not the main A to B plot but a lot of the inbetween is about exploring new sides of these characters and them coming to the conclusion that they should forge their own paths for a while and grow as people.
