It would've been cool if instead of racing the same rivals as the console game, you would race other rivals. Knuckles for classic era in mushroom hill, Espio for adventure era in emerald coast, and Blaze for modern/handheld era in Water Palace.

Knuckles I understand for the classic era but Sonic and Espió were never really rivals, they were doing there job for Team Chaotic and Blaze was not really much of a rival for Sonic either but it would be a cool concept but I wish you could play as the rivals without having to mod the game.

The boss lineup here draws some great parallels to the console version. Perfect chaos and Biolizard are both beasts that eventually overthrew eggman. The egg dragoon and egg emperor are both penultimate bosses before the real threat Is revealed.

Rival Battles-Not so impressive since it's the same race over again even though the Silver fight is still miles better than the miserably designed original fight from the one of the worst games ever(AKA the infamous Sonic 06) Big Bosses-Shows that it's miles better than the original fight despite being on the easy side Time Eater-Suprisingly miles better than the console version's fight. How many people do you think realize you don't need the B button if Time Eater's arms are not in front of you? If they are east and west then you don't even need to do anything beyond boosting, don't need anything other than Y.

I just realized we have a grand total of five Metal Sonic boss fights, Sonic Generations (Console), Sonic 4 Episode 2 twice, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, and Sonic heroes final boss. These boss fights are often the highlight, or at least a high point, of the game they're featured in, and yet, we always see the Metal Sonic race brought back in every other appearance. What is the fixation on Metal Sonic races, me personally I've never found them especially enjoyable, and would much prefer a proper boss fight. Also Silver and Mecha Sonic are technically two different machines altogether, entirely separate from Metal Sonic, therefore they don't count, however the S3&K Mecha Sonic fight is pretty stellar.

You know, every time I see a new 2D Sonic game with a boost I don't want to play that game, I just want a new Rush game... What's that? Biolizard... uh.. .yeah... uh... No i got nothing, I hated the Biolizard fight in SA2, and this, though looking like a genuine improvement in a lot of areas, still really does not grab my attention.

Seriously? Silver is a race too?! But he was the best boss battle in the console version! I guess since they didn't do 3D for this game it would have to be changed... but... STILL! They could have done something cool with this! On a side note... damn Silver, unlike Boom Knuckles you just refuse to skip leg day, look at you being all fast and stuff. How much you want to be him and Jet are gym buddies?

Egg Emperor?! No way man! That was always my favorite boss battle in Heroes, nice to see it make a comeback, and this boss fight actually looks pretty good. Nothing else to say really.
