I'm still impressed by the level design in these stages. They've designed around the floaty controls and used elevation in the layout and this means it's easier for the player to shake up the route they take through the level every time without feeling like it's a slower path. I wish my PC could handle this, I'd love to play it. The bosses still need some work though. I think having them interact with the level would work better than an on rails or arena battle. Just imagine the freedom the player could have on how they navigate the stage to hit the boss, I'm thinking bigger enemies with big hit boxes to account for floaty controls, it'll mean less reliance on the lock on homing attack. Another thing I hope they consider adding polish to would be the victory animations, characters share the same victory poses and it'd be nice to see unique ones.

@@mushroomkaat2667 I'm sure it's momentum based (I was watching an old SAGE stream featuring this game earlier today) but I think the engine itself has floaty physics to allow for high speed gameplay. I imagine the controls, physics etc. have been tweaked/overhauled for the momentum based gameplay.

Between this one and the Green Forest one with the Russian Shadow, it's hard to say which one is better. Both still need a better voice actor for Shadow, but both games are insane.

Already at the start I can see it started out as a fan game using the doom engine, and basically the doom engine was a conceptualisation method that gave a visual representation of what the creator wanted from a much more beefy engine like we see today, everything actually feels spot on from when it was in the doom engine, even the speed of sonic clearly is from there

@@sonicovertime I had a rough time with Ocean Paradise 3, and had to use Super Sonic. Unfortunately, my road with him stopped at Ocean Paradise 5; I think it and other missions require near-perfect performance, or if not, they're outright impossible with Super Sonic due to his 60 Ring starting count. Still, it's a really freaking amazing fangame I got to try out, and I might even proceed to complete more missions too!

sadly doesn't appear to. Mabye if you S rank all missions on every character... but I don't believe so. Seems most unlockables are from story mode and hidden things.

You get new characters for finding secrets, and you unlock Ray for completing the story, but I don't think there's anything for 100% completion, besides getting to boast about your time attack scores on the Discord.

The only thing I don't like about these sonic fan games is the physics. They are to light and floaty. Like you spent hours, days, weeks, designing these absolutely beautiful levels, but you can easily bypass half the level because they can stay in the air all day.

Tails would have needed his flight nerfed and/or the deve would have had to render the outsides of the buildings in Hidden Base, which would add work. Besides, Tails wouldn't plausibly be able to damage enemies by rolling or spin-jumping, and would need some other attack.

I like the sense of speed the thing is that they should find a way to build that speed but not have it where your completely flying through the stage. It kills the platformer side of things. Maybe create more hazards within the levels that cause the player to be cautious and always be on the move.
