Sonic 2 wasn't as slow on PAL. Sonic 1 on the other hand definitely was.

@@ElAmi-if6dz the gameplay may be slower, the music wasn't, I'm sure of it. I played the PAL versions as a kid in Spain, and when I tried an emulator back in my teen days, I knew the Sonic 1 music was off; Sonic 2 music however was normal. Most emulators run the NTSC version as default, it was then when I learnt about PAL and NTSC.

@@iNkenbiLL yeah, of course, games were usually made with NTSC in mind instead of PAL, only some companies like Rare were interested in optimizing for PAL, but not SEGA (with the exception of Knuckles Chaotix)
