Sonic Mania- Game Secrets & Tips (Unlocking Everything)

On this episode of Game Secrets & Tips, I play Sonic Mania for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC! ( I'm playing the Switch version in this video.)
Here I'll show you how to unlock everything (well, almost everything, minus the DLC) in the game without having to collect any of the medals. This includes the debug mode, level select, and many others! I also show you how to get all the chaos emeralds without having to play the bonus game.

Be glad I allow commenting on here in the first place. I normally do not make these kind of comments on any of my videos, in fact, most of them don't but, when there gets to be too many "this video is fake" comments, and I don't know if they're joking or not, something has to be done. Another way is collecting medals from the special stage: (blue sphere) 1 Medal: Sonic's Peel-Out from "Sonic CD", 6 Medals: Sonic's Insta-Shield from Sonic 3&K, 11 Medals: & Knuckles from the " & Knuckles Games", 16 Medals: Debug Mode, 21 Medals: Mean Bean from "Robotniks Mean Bean Machine" ,26 Medals: D.A. Garden (Soundtrack), 32 Medals: Blue Sphere (Normal Mode & Mania Mode) all requires Silver Medals

For those who are asking which buttons to press for level select,(I'm guessing it's for level select since, no one has said if it was or not) they are in the video on screen and are listed next to the name of the system that they go with. Press and hold the following buttons on any of the following systems that you are playing on. For the Switch: Y & + (aka the Start button.) For the PS4: Square & X For the Xbox One: X & Options For the PC: Q & A Must have Debug Mode on in the Game Options Menu. Hope this helps.

thank you so much for putting this together and walking through it step by step! I'm a new Switch user as of early May and my Sonic Mania is on v1.04 but I cannot get debug to show up no matter how many times I try at the title screen! Is there anything tricky about the timing?

At the title screen you have to input the code as soon as sonic shows up on the screen and has to be done quickly. Ya it can be tricky to get it to work at times. Hope this helps!

@@TheHootster it worked, thank you!! another important note that took some trial and error: when you hold down the Y and PLUS button on the switch, you need to KEEP holding both for it to work. I kept trying by holding Y and then just tapping PLUS and it would just drop me into the level.

I did not try this but in sonic 1,it only works on debug mode so I guess you can only do it on debug mode.

That title screen button combination is a neat nod to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where you press the same thing after the SEGA logo is done, but before Sonic waves his fingers at you. It's really hard to do in Sonic 3.

There is one problem well you see at the title screen it does not say "Sonic Mania Plus" 1:24 But one thing is the menu is with Sonic Mania Plus 2:26 and when did you get that from the Sonic Mania Menu isan,t like that.

Yes all the unlockable stuff will stay unlocked. But you will have to put in codes like level select and debug mode every time you turn the game on.
