As someone who speaks Japanese, it should be noted the text above is Professor Torii (プロフェッサートリィ). Torii is the name used for the GUN agent who got ahold of Professor Gerald's journal in Shadow Generations (it was instead written as トリー, but its the same pronounciation and トリー would be more professional)

This. I dislike how they handled the "only humans" thing but "only anthros" is also bad when we know humans exist in the universe. I am fine if they go with what Tailstube said: "people like us mostly live on islands", but they can still include some in human settlements, too. And in a more human centric game with towns let's see at least one town mostly with anthros.

I like how they've done it more recently where it's just the smaller Islands have the mobians or animal civilians, and the larger more populated areas have more humans then animal civilians. And it's not really too cluttered as you don't really see too many of both in the same spot, it's usually a bunch of animal civilians, or humans. It's rare that you actually see both of them in the same spot aside from the main Sonic cast.

@@leandrocerqueira6653 I don't think so. Completely different art style, and one that was never considered for Unleashed based on its concept arts. Looks far closer to how humans were designed in Shadow Generations, so likely the new art direction the serie in going with since Frontiers.

For all we know it could have just been concept art for sage back then, then sonic looked at when they started developing frontiers 2 and thought “hey actually, I think we should use this”. Like how we got the terios skin in shadow gens.

they have Sonic frontiers, the final horizon DLC update, and Shadow gen to use as a basis for Sonic frontiers 2, so that game will be made much faster than the original, so marketing will probably start next year, and the game will coming out in 2026. side note: yes Shadow gens is based on Sonic frontiers and not sonic gens, that's why Shadow feels so different to control from sonic because it's a modded and improved version of cyber space

Her amaranth hair with magenta makeup and green eyes has to be Rouge. Rouge has not an appearance, yet and I heard that 2 characters are shown at the end of 3. I did think it was Amy at first, but if you go back to Adventure 2, she is another Mobian of Earth next to Shadow.

I think she is from an in-universe anime since that scene takes place in Tokyo so the art style world make more sense. Her outfit gives me adventurer/moutian climber vibes, and if her role in frontites 2 is important I can see her being some kind of archeologists. Maybe eggman wasn't the first to find the islands

You know I actually do like the sonic unleash human character designs very unique very pleasing and diverse. And all honesty I was hoping we'd see more of that in the games. I like the fact that Archie was willing to do that for the Post second genesis wave. It be nice to get this back again in the new games

I think where Sega has been making a few reveals in Shadow Generations, for example in Geralds diary, its revealed that Maria has a sister supposedly named Tori, and I have read a few comments suggesting that this purple haired girl apparently has something to do with that, as Marias sister or just another relative of the Robotnik family. Now how true all of this is I can't say for sure, I'm the kind of person who will believe it as soon as I see it!

I know saying this'll piss of the Sonic Fandom, but I feel like the movies need to flesh out the human characters as well. This is because if they are there and they aren't at least utilized in some way, something in the story just feels missing. Storytelling, and art in general, aren't democracies. You need to go against what the audience or the reader wants in some instances for the sake of art.
