I thought the music was terrible, although the Robotnik theme was ok. During the Robotnik fight, the bushes rotated as whole units instead of individual leaves, which I found jarring.

Special Stage's level design explains us why this game is masterpiece. Gaining blue sphere to increase speed, and so we can finally catch the emerald by surpassing its velocity. This makes level more challenging as the stage went by, because the higher speed make it harder to avoid the red and gain the blue. That concept allows the stage to be more enjoyable and correspond with sonic's basic concept - SPEED.

Alex The Japan Fan lol not everything in sonic was meant to be anime related, like u said dbz inspired the super sonic, who knows maybe the dragon balls inspired the 7 chaos emeralds, dragon balls maybe used to go ssj if the saiyan has it like in majin buu saga where goku gets energy and is able to go ssj, but not everything is dbz related.

I like how everyone is saying this is the best one basically just because of the art. I think it’s really friggin good, I love the graphics, animations, music, etc, but the physics leaves a lot to be desired (there’s something that bugs me with it and I can’t quite put my finger on it), there just isn’t a ton of content in this demo, and the level design doesn’t feel as good as it could be. I still love this fan game, but I thought Sonic Galactic was personally a lot better. The physics are perfectly right, I’ve always wanted to play as Fang in a Classic Sonic game and he’s great, the new character fits right in so perfectly and I love him, and the animation work in that game is just so great (not as good as the animation in this but still great, but I prefer the style at least).

This is great! I love the use of physics (badnik parts, bouncing off the top of the water). Though, I do have a small problem with how empty the stages feel. If you look at main 2D sonic games, there are a lot of decorative props in the foreground and background, and by comparison the stages here look less lively. The gameplay and spritework is already great and full of charm, though.
