Fun Fact: Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure Sonic and Blaze don't have idle animations like in the Advance and previous 2D games. However, if you're on the lower screen i.e the touch screen, and tap either Sonic or Blaze they give unique animations. In Sonic Rush Sonic does a wave to get going while Blaze acts like a surprised cat jumping on all 4 and gets mad at the player and taps her foot impatiently its pretty adorable. In Sonic Rush Adventure Sonic does a stretching animation and gives a couple of hops while Blaze does a floating animation. There was a lot of love put into the animations as a kid I always loved the spirte animations from the Advance games so seeing how they upgraded them via the trick system was so cool.

Sonic Rush has far More than a vibe to me: it is easily my favorite handheld Sonic game of all time 💯 The boost and tricks system were nigh immaculate, the boss battles were an absolute blast, and they introduced my favorite character outside of the main cast: Blaze the Cat 🔥 Her character development and friendship Cream are some of my favorite moments and Sonic history

Sonic Rush is good. However, Sonic Rush Adventure is near perfection! Only gripe I have with these games is the inability to utilize their Super/Burning forms in regular stages. Not even Colors 3DS (Same developers) or Generations 3DS gave us that unlockable.

If randos are also allowed to give their take on Advance: I only played the first game and it is good...but not amazing. It has a weird effect where it starts out on its peak and becomes less quality the further one gets towards the end. I also have no idea how the rail grinding is meant to work, because I 100%ed the game at least twice and I never actually used it.

The bosses in these game were pretty impressive for ds especially this early on and you can tell some were pushing it with some taking caveat to work around limitation like how egg king doesn’t have a bottom half and just floats cause unless you stop and pause you wouldn’t notice it and if you did you would think it’s floating cause it’s in space

Sonic 3 and knuckles is my favorite due to how long and involved it was, but dash is definitely my second 2d just above Sonic Advanced 1. The boost was amazing, and I loved the extra zones. The music is hype as hell also! Great vid!

I’m surprised he didn’t talk about rush adventure. That is literally tied with unleashed as my favorite Sonic game. In my opinion the gameplay is slightly better, the soundtrack is just as bumping (if not better😅), and the experience was such a fun trip. It’s literally the type of adventure you’d wanna redo, and I did a ton when I was younger. Man I remember that soundtrack clear as day🥲

I give this game a hard 9/10 its my favorite sonic game period. Also i think its just me but i dont find the bottomless pits to not be as bad as in the advance games. Might be skill issue might be not, but generally i do find that the characters movesets (especially Blaze) help me to avoid them and it does help to just have a feel of when you should slow down

Rush, as well as Rush Adventure, are some of my favorite 2D Sonics. The precursor to the 3D Boost games. Dimps may have a troubled history, but they at least got this game right. The story is very good. This game led to the creation of my favorite 3D Boost game, as well as my favorite game in general, Unleashed.

I think the stop to fight enemies is clever, it encourages finding a path that skips it, and is even used to make the way to a special stage entrance look like a way you could backtrack to hide it(this happens is huge crisis I think[why is it called huge crisis its just a big boat]) Also I like the harder bosses as even though its very frustrating at first, the game isn't handholding you through it, you just have to legitimately get better and sonic games don't really do that. The final boss felt legitimately impossible to beat as either character, but now it seems kind of easy.(I haven't played rush adventure so idk about that, and I haven't played sonic frontiers so this might also apply to that) However I will criticize this game on poor teaching. I had no idea that the spinney things were special stage entrances if you had enough boost, I thought you had to somehow control them to swing to a higher path. It took me until the final level for me to try boosting on them, and then I was thrusted into the final special stage first due to entering in the final level. And I got stuck on trying to press buttons twice in night carnival, as first I didn't know about using L and R during tricks, and then I couldn't tell that a block was pushable. I love the difficulty, but at least lost world had a tutorial system at all, more than what this game could say(but its an awful system and I hate that game.) Sonic rush is close to perfection.

I would say sonic rush is my second favourite sonic game behind rush adventure, i know both have issues but i feel rush adventure just has better level design and even with the grinding, as someone who hates grinding in games to the point where even 5 minutes of grinding completely drains me, this games grinding for the most part is actually pretty fun since with the exception of pirates island act 2, i would say all of rush adventures levels are good Rush is almost as good, but i would go to play rush try and pick a level id want to play, and struggle to because most of the levels arent the most fun, however i still feel this game is really good and is still my second favourite sonic game
