In this video, Did You Know Gaming takes a look at some facts, secrets, Easter eggs and history of Sega's Sonic The Hedgehog. You forgot to mention the Cowgirl Neon Billboard that made sexual moans when you hit it in Knuckles' Casinopolis stage in the original Japanese release of Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, and how it was removed and replaced with a generic "Casinopolis" neon sign for the international releases. The Cowgirl sign was also originally gonna be a Bunny Girl at a bar in earlier prototype builds of the game, but it never made it into the final cut. There were also prototype builds of Shadow where the first cutscene actually showed Maria getting shot by a GUN soldier, and there were other unused dialogue that had the characters swearing notably much more than the final release. Examples include Sonic saying "Hate to piss off GUN." getting changed to "Hate to tick off GUN.", and Shadow saying "What the hell is going on with me?" getting changed to "What's going on with me?" for the final build. Then you have the fact that the Japanese versions of 3D Sonic games have cursing regularly, but not in the English audio tracks, and there's the heavy localization of Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, Sonic Lost World, and Sonic Forces' stories that made numerous changes to the Japanese scripts, thanks to the awful writing of Ken Pontac and Warren Graff.

Classifying gems by "Color and how they are cut" is extremely inaccurate. Gemstones are categorized by species: Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Quarts ect. Emerald or Beryl(species) comes in many colors: Aquamarine, morganite, bixbite, heliodor , maxixe, goshenite. Did you know, Rubies are just red sapphires.

+GaomonAndLucario filing a 'DMCA' strike would be a serious dick move, though... That is, unless you _want_ to be compared to people like Alex Mauer. And considering that there isn't so much as commentary over the video, just raw game play, I don't think that you'd be able to, or at least, it wouldn't be ethical in any way. I guess, unless you owned the rights to the game, which I _highly_ doubt that that's the case. And regarless, it _is_ still considered fair use, sure it'd be good to have a source to the original video, but I doubt that that was intentional. If they're contacted, then it should be changed relatively easily, assuming that it hasn't been done yet. Just don't go getting people to misuse the DMCA, because it happens way too much, and a lot of the time doesn't even apply, like here. Not saying the 'SonicWindBlue' _was_ gonna do it, cause I don't think that'd happen, I'm just saying that using the DMCA so loosely is a terrible idea.

Children kept asking for Sonic to have a gun, and since the idea of sonic with a gun didn't sit well with SEGA, they passed it to shadow. 0:43 fun fact: in the dutch version/ localization of Sonic X they actually translated Chaos Emeralds to Chaos Diamonds (Dutch: Chaos Diamanten). Though this only happened in the dialogue of the series on the dvd it was still translated as Chaos Emeralds (Dutch: Chaos Smaragden) this is also the case for Sonic Game manuals that were translated to dutch. But to this day I prefer Chaos Diamonds over Chaos Emeralds because of that, It just makes more sense. =)

Anarchy the Angel Removing the RPS minigame feels a bit too oversensitive IMO, but I can see why fortune-telling got shot. Some religions (Catholic Church certainly does, not sure about other branches of Christianity) consider it to be either "magic" or a pagan rite (so it's a sin)... plus it's not really educational from a rational/scientific point of view.

Mostly incorrect on the emerald trivia. Only diamond--the carbon-based crystal--can be a diamond, even if it's emerald-cut. Emeralds are specifically beryl tinted green by trace amounts of chromium and/or vanadium, and both rubies and sapphires are ALWAYS corundum (aluminum oxide crystal). An emerald with a brilliant cut is a brilliant-cut emerald, not a diamond.

Types of beryl: aquamarine (cyan), maxixe (deep blue), emerald (green), heliodor (yellow), goshenite (clear/white), morganite (pink or purple), and red beryl (red obv.). That's seven, all the same colors as the "emeralds" in Sonic. But "the Chaos Beryls" isn't as catchy.

That is not how emeralds work. An emerald can have a brilliant cut but it'll still be an emerald. A diamond can have an emerald cut it will still be a diamond. An emerald is green beryl. Any other green gem is not an emerald. If it isn't a beryl and green, it's another Gem

Crono Sapien Well swearing yes. As it goes for violence and or gore, it's a bit mode laid back than here of course. Anime like Naruto, One Piece, and others will show off blood, Yu-Gi-Oh (not 4Kids dub) shows off guns, even Pokémon has it's fair share of cake when it comes to female heroins. Even the director(s) of the Pokémon anime state that they purposefully change girls like Misty and Dawn every season to give more variety and "eye candy" for the younger male audience, particularly children 10 and older. I prefer their method of censorship tbh. Those people at least don't freak out when a drop of blood shows up in a cartoon like parents in the west do.

I remember playing Sonic Pinball and beating the first level. Then it took me to the first bonus stage where you had to break the metal capsules, freeing characters inside. I could swear those being freed were the original characters from the Sonic SATAM series, including Sally Acorn and Bunni Rabbot. I wish they'd acquire the rights to the characters from Archie Comics, so they can finally put them in a dark, but fun Sonic SATAM videogame.

louisng114 Particularly since the Japanese call *all* of their gemstones „emeralds“ regardless of their type, it’s just how their language works. Another example of this fact making it into the English version of a game are the „Emeras“ from Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon which, you guessed it, don‘t have an emerald cut either and come in all colors of the rainbow. This entire discussion about the Chaos Emeralds not being emeralds is so dumb, it’s almost like people are desperately trying to make „mistakes“ out of anything in Sonic just to blether on about how much of a screw up this franchise is.

The Chaos Emeralds ARE emeralds. The cut of the emerald may be a diamond cut, but diamonds have emerald cuts, so it may be a thing in Sonic’s world. Also, the emeralds are clear and the Chaos Energy gives them their colours.

There is three conflicting arguements with all of those statements The Chaos emeralds existed before any kind of professional gem cutting existed therefore their category cannot be decided by their cut The emeralds cannot be decided by their colour either because the colour you see in the emeralds is simply their power, when the emeralds are robbed of their power they can be anything from dark green to jet black. Therefore they are not quartz or a diamond. The chaos emeralds are not a rip off of the Dragonballs, they have completely different functions. The number 7 is significant in fiction and media i.e. 7 deadly sins, the seven seas, 7 considered to be the lucky number hence why its used in gambling. Why do you think there are 7 Dragonballs in the first place.
