Fun fact: the genesis version is supposed to have press start button text on the bottom but can’t appear due to it having the same save file as the sonic team presents logo

It's not that it has the same file, the "sonic team presents" text overwrites the "press start button" text in the games memory causing it to not load in correctly

As a kid, I owned a DS with Sonic Classic Collection and NSMB. It was kinda nostalgic because I grew up with Sonic, and I haven’t laid an eye on Sonic 1 in at least a year or so. My dad telling me he used to own a Genesis and also grew up with Sonic made us always talk about him. It makes me sad, knowing I’m never gonna talk to my dad about my favourite blue hedgehog again. Seeing the classic games( not including mania) always almost makes me want to cry. It’s so hard trying to keep up with Sonic sometimes, that it’s such a wild ride…..is what I’d be saying if I had a tragic backstory. I own a Nintendo Switch and I play Sonic 1 everyday lol

@@barreldancer3505 except for fading to and from black doesnt tint the game blue, the music and sound effects can play without interrupting the instruments of the music, the spikes are fixed and now dont ignore invulnerable frames, the speed caps are gone, widescreen support with hud elements shifted to support the touch controls, the title screen has press start, spindash is added, and more smooth special stage. with the "its basically the same" argument, gamecube ps3 and 3ds shouldnt be included.

@@superidolfan6296 BTW, the comment was meant to be ironic as the port is obviously trash, tho I didn't think they could've done much about it as the GameBoy Advance is essentially a slightly less powerful SNES, which was already technically a less powerful Genesis, so of course it was going to be bad, HOWEVER, knowing this was the case, Sega should've never ported this game to begin with, plus like, they could've still done a slightly better job as it reeks of rushing
