My predictions for the future films: Sonic the Hedgehog 4; * A loose adaptation of Sonic CD, with the introduction of Amy & Metal Sonic it seems almost certain. * Robotnik will return but with a new actor via Agent Stone cloning him * Time Travel will be introduced since it’s Sonic CD, and with time travel, Sonic 4’s post credit scene will introduce Silver the Hedgehog. Shadow the Hedgehog spin off; * Introduce Rouge & Omega, the former undercover at G.U.N, the latter being created by G.U.N to hunt down Shadow. * Black Doom & the Black Arms will not be involved. * Deals with Shadow eventually reconciling with G.U.N * By the end Shadow joins G.U.N in memory of Maria, forming Team Dark with Rouge & Omega.

I'm wondering if Eggman had a contingency plan for Metal Sonic to activate upon his death. That coupled with hopefully some real T1000 level terror, and we're in for a dangerous and fun time since this creation is now on the loose without any master left to keep him under control. Also Amy possibly being a time traveling character like in Terminator is such a hard read. Her being a love interest to Sonic strengthens that connection as she could be like the Kyle Reese to Sonic's Sarah Connor. Good call!

To Doug - Sonic can breath in space because they still had the chaos emeralds in both Shadow and Sonic. But i did notice Knuckles and Tails saving Sonic from burning up crashing down into space but they probably just held their breath. Another thing is maybe they need air to breath but not oxygen maybe something else in the air since they are aliens so maybe that substance or whatever isn't underwater but either way i don't think Shadow needs to breath because he wasn't exactly just born and when he was in the capsule/pod it was full of a green liquid so IDK.

Sonic was always somehow able to breath in space. Think of all those levels: Death Egg, Space Colony Ark, Starlight Carnival, Asteroid Coaster and other... There are parts completely outside of spaceships or other places that could have air.

Rouge's redesign can easily be worked around. Simply give her body fur or use her outfit from Sonic Prime. Also, this movie says "damn" a lot. So, I doubt anthropomorphic female characters are "problem" anymore. You did Amy a disservice with that description. Shadow's inhibitor rings are a double edged sword. While they do grant him a boost in power, he will burn out if he doesn't put them back on.

My prediction for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: * We find out after the first Sonic movie that Long claw is actually alive and has been taking care, raising, and training Amy when she survived the Echidna attack and found Amy abandoned and alone after the Echidna's raid * A new threat, Metal Sonic, shows up to the original Green Hill Zone searching for Sonic looking to terminate him * Long claw tries to fight off Metal but to no avail with Amy trying to help, but Long claw sends her to Earth to find Sonic and warn him he's in danger * Amy arrives on Earth before Shadow breaks free from Prison looking for Sonic but to no avail and is to forced to live in isolation, for like three years, like Sonic but not trusting humans after her interaction with GUN * She then sees him and the rest of the crew battle in space and finally tries to find him to warn him * They bond because of their connection to Long Claw and get closer while trying to stop Metal with Tails and Knuckles

The whole "breathing in space but not underwater" thing is, admittedly, a plot hole... but a plot hole that also mirrors the games. As early as Sonic 2 we see this weird dichotomy with Sonic being at risk of drowning in levels with water but perfectly fine FALLING FROM ORBIT after blowing up Eggman's space station. Yes, it makes zero sense... but it's essentially super-canon at this point, so don't question it.

When it comes to "Sonic defeating Shadow" in the end, I don't think Shadow taunted Sonic without an ulterior motive to motivate Sonic to kill him. Shadow was shown to feel bad for hurting Tom & hurting Sonic for hurting Tom, so it makes no sense why Shadow would try to be a jerk in this aspect unless it was truly to just get Sonic mad enough to kill him because he thought he had to die for all the wrong he did by that point (It's mainly Gerald who gets Shadow obsessed with Revenge.). Shadow pretty much had a "Death Wish," which is also supported when Shadow encourages Sonic to kill him before Sonic changes his mind. Not to mention, Shadow is always wearing his Limiters, so if he really wanted to beat Super Sonic as Super Shadow, he would have removed them if he was really motivated to win (And y'know, go down fighting, rather than happily accepting death.).

I think Shadow sits out the 4th movie. If they're bringing in Metal Sonic and Amy (along with of whoever sent Metal Sonic) into that next installment, it's going to run into that problem of having way too many characters to manage. A formula which has a track record of not faring well. That end stinger just showed that he survived and is still out there and will eventually be back in some capacity down the line.

As much as I enjoyed this movie, I feel like the writing was a bit sloppy in some parts. The most obvious part being…SPOILER… There was no reason given for why Robotnik wouldn’t just send Shadow into the GUN headquarters. He’s got the most powerful being in the world at his disposal who can literally teleport. So why wouldn’t he just send Shadow in there? I realize the real reason is the filmmakers wanted to have a long drawn out heist sequence with Robotnik/Team Sonic. But your job as a writer is to WRITE a reason why it has to play out that way or it immediately takes me out of the movie. Then Shadow just ends up going in and getting the key card anyway which made the scene even more stupid. Like, even just a line where they say something like “GUN has a security system that wouldn’t let Shadow teleport from inside the vault”’ would do. Like, how hard is that? They didn’t even bother with something like that. They were just like, “nah, Shadow. You stay”. Lol

Sonic 1 film is ideally based off Sonic 1 video game. Sonic 2 film is ideally based off Sonic 2, 3 & Knuckles. Sonic 3 film is pretty much based off Sonic Adventures 1 & 2. And Sonic 4 film from my guess is likely to be loosely based of Sonic CD since both Amy and Metal Sonic debuted in that game. I say loosely because role reversal of the damsel in distress... it looks to be more like dude in distress. 😅 Anyways, I am expecting Sonic Heroes-like story with timey wimey shenanigans from Sonic CD with Metal Sonic being perfect as the big bad. But you never know, Jim Carrey will be wanting money again and join in for the quadrilogy. If that ends up being VERY successful, we will finally be able to have Year of Silver with a likely retelling of the infamous Sonic '06. Either way, as far as we know... I will say that 2027 is Year of Amy.
