it's not just that the cgi is better, its that they're improving and refining this semi-real cartoon style to the point where it really isnt uncanny at all anymore. *This* is the style of the Sonic movies.

Yeah, like the detail is better, but the overall movement and posing and compositing into the environments! It just looks really good now! I also like how they play around with unique strong lighting in this in some parts of the trailer. That too always helps make CGI look better.

[Skinner remains in the kitchen, and the theme song to an imaginary sitcom titled "Skinner and the Superintendent" plays, depicting their mundane interactions:] Skinner, with his sane explanations The superintendent's gonna need his vacation When he hears Skinner's impressive fabrications There'll be peace in town tonight! Chalmers: SEEYMOURRR!!! [The scene jumps to Skinner's kitchen, where Chalmers isn't present] Skinner: Superintendent! I was just...uh...cooking some steamed vegetables on the windowsill. It's a local expression. Chalmers: Uh-huh. Eh, what region? Skinner: Oh, just down the street, at Krusty Burger. Chalmers: Really? Well, I've been there, and they don't serve roast beef. I must be off. [They both enter the kitchen as the room is filled with a normal light from outside] Skinner: [points to the kitchen ceiling] Look, it's just a little light from outside. Chalmers: ...Little light? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen!? Skinner: Yes. Chalmers: ...May I see it? Skinner: ...Yes, of course. [They both casually stroll out of the house as Agnes' voice can be heard in the background, sounding calm and collected.] Agnes (voice): Seymour, everything's fine. Skinner (turning back to the house): Yes, mother, just enjoying the sunset. Chalmers: Well, Seymour, you are a peculiar man, but I must admit... you serve a terrible fast food. We want to see Maria's friendship with Shadow built up, then we want to see her taken away from him and be just as sad about it as he is, then we all want to joke about it on social media as a coping mechanism!

Most of what I know about Gerald Robotnik is that he died 50 years before the events of Sonic Adventure 2 and he worked to develop the "Ultimate Lifeform." Seeing him alive in the trailer was a surprise. It's good to see Jim Carry is back for it.

He didn't die 50 years ago but some years later after that. 50 years ago the Ark was raided and Maria was murdered, but Gerald survived and was apprehended by GUN. He spent his remaining days reprogramming Shadow to wake up from stasis in a few years and get revenge for him. GUN used Gerald because he was brilliant, but his mental collapse eventually made him more dangerous and GUN deemed it a necessity to dispose of him via execution, unless he revealed what they did in the Ark. That happened years later, though. We don't know how long he'd live.

Man what a great trailer. Shadow looks CLEAN and sounds amazing. Good job Keanu. Also, a great anime I'd love to see you react to is Undead Unluck. Man it is so good right now. Great power system, world building (narratively and literally), best female characters in a Shonen and oh yeah SHONEN ROMANCE that is done well (main couple are the 2 MCs and both are GOATED together and on their own). Oh yeah it also has a video game element built into the story (that's all I'll say on that) and oh yeah KILL GOD. It also has some of the most tragic backstories related to their abilities you'll ever see.

I feel they could retire Jim Carry as Robotnik, but like at the end of the third movie before the credits roll or the end credits scenes show him finishing up his last greatest creation, Metal Sonic, before Robotnik himself either goes into retirement (maybe passing on the job to Agent Stone? I know the actor is no Jim Carry-level legend but it could he interesting to see like a 'passing the bad guy torch' kind of thing happen) from the whole 'evil Scientist hell-bent on conjuring the world'-thing, deciding to have Metal Sonic finish up the job of defeating Sonic (regardless of how the 3rd movie resolves, Robotnik could still want to defeat Sonic because, as a narrsasitic madman he can't be satisfied until he gets back at Sonic for making a fool out of him twice before) because in the first movie Robotnik makes it clear that to him, robots are the future, and what better way to defeat Sonic then making a robotic doppelganger that he believes will finish the job FOR him? Either that or, during the final steps of him creating Metal Sonic something goes wrong and a power surge or something causes the secret hideout or lab he builds Metal Sonic in to blow up and the only thing that came out relatively unscathed was his greatest creation, Sonic's metal counterpart, so it's like Robotnik would seem to succeed in making the next step in 'evolution', but the madman doing so at the cost of his own life. Or like he made Metal Sonic *too* perfect and it immediately rebels against him Ultron-style and kills his own creator. So Robotnik would go out with a bang instead of a whimper. And in the next movie through one way or another Amy could show up, maybe being a hostage that Metal Sonic would use to lure Sonic in seeing as he's the hero that will come to save the day. They fight, Metal ultimately loses, but he could get away to fight another day or something. Then, if we're lucky enough to get ANOTHER movie it could delve into the Sonic Adventure 1 storyline, introduce characters like Big, Froggy, and Gamma (maybe the last one being made too by Robotnik before he retires/dies or maybe being made by Stone who has taken up the mantle as evil genius supervillian.) Then if we are blessed enough to get one last movie it could be wrapped up with Sonic Heroes' storyline, where a lot of the cast show up in that game so it would make sense for that to be the grand finale where they face off against a powered up Metal Sonic now 'Metal Overlord'. Or if not and they decide to keep going maybe they could do an adaptation of Sonic Rush or Sonic 06... obviously rewriting a LOT of stuff to avoid plot holes and... human-hedgehog makeout sessions, but finding some way to add Silver and Mephiles into the mix.

I honestly would love to see your reaction to the 6 episodes. And something tells me that you already did record some reactions and plan to surprise us later in the year before the movie comes out or upload them after Avatar is finished. Can you react to "Steven universe future: rewritten" by kiwi queen 13. It's a more Darker retelling of Steven's mental spiral and eventual corruption. I saw the knuckles show and it was honestly enjoyable, but I just don’t like Wade, he’s not a “oh haha he’s clumsy” funny character, he’s a “for fuck sakes he’s stupid” type of character and it’s not really enjoyable for most of the show, specially since he takes most of the screen time and Knuckels only appears time to time
