Bar sonic actually has just straight up saved workshop. All of your character still have my absolute favorite animation and VFX design out of anything I've seen on workshop. The character is an absolutely blast to play, great work as always (though I'm a bit surprised one of his runes isn't a 2 flickies reference).

This is the best mod to ever release for rivals ever. I haven’t yet really been this impressed with anything else so far, and I gotta say, I hope you branch out and reach a couple other characters that exist as modded characters but not very good ones and do something like this for them.

you can just go hyper sonic, actually if you use the chaos emeralds buddy with the super sonic abyss rune/alt it will transform sonic further beyond quite literally the super form's super form lmao

imo this is peak Sonic character mod in rivals This Sonic has everything(this is an exaggeration) that made people love Sonic back in the day, the stylish, cool, flashy, and acrobatic hedgehog out here with his idle animation(reminds me of his idle animation from the Rush games), moveset, mechanics, and aesthetic being heavily based on Adventure 1 to Heroes. The sprites being heavily based on yuji uekawa from the pose tricks he does. Hell, when you win a match, you'll be given a Rank at the results screen which is hilarious. This Sonic feels like the Sonic you KNOW and LOVE back when you were young from your good old days

yeah the sonic eagle is fine but it felt super overdone and it doesn't really help with combos as much hummingtop just felt a lot more natural to the idea of shooting sonic forward and keeping the flow going

What I love about this trailer is that this is MY Sonic. Like…Sonic is still Sonic, sure. But I miss the Modern Sonic from Heroes-Generations and maybe Lost World. Like, Sonic is still cool and my favorite character, but Sonic isn’t as cocky and badass, my Sonic did flips and tricks with a big smirk in a situation no other video game character could get out of, the recent Sonic has been more mature. I miss the teenage hedgehog.

i dont even own rivals of aether but im loving the hell out of this, i recently finished sonic adventure and its one of my favourite games now. will be honest though, the bigger pixel art isnt as spectacular as the ingame sprites, such as the big picture sonic or windy valley stage. the big picture sonic feels slightly stiff, and windy valley looks sort of mixed together on the rocks, and unappealing (edit: giving it a better look, the background may be the main thing in windy valley, and it might just be the arm. )

Super Sonic appears to be broken - when transforming with the Chaos Emerald buddy, he just uses his regular sprites. I also can't seem to access his alternate palettes past 8

both of those problems aren't on me the buddy is on the buddy's side, seems to be an issue there on the alts stuff, try uninstalling and reinstalling, it's been a problem with workshop for a long time and nobody knows why

there isn't really a sprite sheet for most rivals sprites since most people make it themselves for the game specifically with no plans of using them for anything beyond that but you can always go around asking/notifying you want to use certain sprites, if through steam comments, on youtube trailers, twitter etc etc

This Sonic mod has quickly grown into being my second main next to Mecha Sonic. My only complaint that I have, Is that Super Sonic tends to give me a bit of frame delay. He's obviously too *Undefeatable* for the game to handle. XD

No worries! Take your time. While I have your attention, I was thinking up some rune ideas. The first one I can think of is a massive change, replacing Sonic's neutral aerial with the Sonic Boom attack from Frontiers. He'd basically hover in the air and shoot slashes until the button is unpressed, or he hits the ground. The other is another reference to Frontiers: holding the neutral special (Homing Attack) will create two Sphere projectiles, which home in on the target with Sonic. The last one is a bit more simple; Sonic has turbo mode by default. No idea how possible any of these would be, but I think it would be cool. :D

thanks! as it stands it was actually either sonic, chaos 0 or shadow chaos i turned into an SSL character cuz i wasn't happy with my main mechanic for him shadow was a pretty weak concept compared to sonic so i ultimately chose him instead but i am hoping someone else would be able to make a cool new take on shadow after the lexicon version was up for so long

thank you! you can make sonic go super sonic as an alternate skin (click the sonic icon on the character select screen), use the abyss rune that allows him to go super sonic or the chaos emeralds buddy for hyper sonic you have to be on his default alt or "radical team player" alt and works if you have 2 of the super options enabled at the same time (for example having the super sonic skins with the chaos emeralds buddy)
