the “Everybody combined” thing is a reference to Sonic Heroes, where Metal Sonic learned to use his scanned data to shapeshift into other characters and eventually become the Metal Overlord (which is what the sprite is at the end) which took every single character teaming up to defeat. Mephiles though has a TON of amazing references and Mat just _barely_ beats out Shwabadi for my fav verse because of it! I actually have a copy paste of most of em: Mephiles is the villain of (the very bad) Sonic 06 and Mat packed a TON of fantastic references into a character most people probably wouldn’t have taken so seriously. He’s from the future and is basically in a Cell situation where he’s made incomplete so he goes back in time to absorb his other half, which is where “for centuries I've been on the ledge of an experiment” comes from with how he was sealed away in 2 parts. “In the shadow of shadows, I'm underground” is how Mephiles starts out as this being made of pure darkness but possesses Shadow’s shadow for a body which is why he looks a lot like him. “Rapper, the master, spitting flames of disaster” is a reference to his other half Iblis, basically a lava kaiju known as The Flames of Disaster. Iblis is the body of the world-ending sun god Solaris and Mephiles its soul which is what “You've got a one-way ticket to oblivion, Feel the burning sun rays, this kid invented them” is about. And the last line about 06’d is a triple play. There’s the obvious 0-6/six feet under meaning but in the game Mephiles actually DOES succeed in killing sonic and he has to be brought back to life (“Kill the King”) AND Sonic 06 was a game so bad it was decried as the death of the franchise at the time.

@@davidharristafoya1095 no its not like that goku was already weak and drained from fighting freiza mephiles killed a sonic that was completely fresh with no problem even then mephiles himself was the one not at 100 percent he got done fighting shadow and inhibiter rings off shadow before even killing sonic and so what if sonics back was turned mephiles would've still one shoted him just the same and it was conformed that mephiles weaknesses was light based attacks which is why only shadow was a problem for him mephiles let omega shoot him in order to tell omega about what he did to shadow in the future so even if sonic could fight back he would only be delaying his death and not really be hurting mephiles at all just base sonic is in power range of base shadow it took chaos boost shadow and inhibiter rings off shadow to even truly threaten mephiles and do to mephiles being able to go through time with no problem and is basically immortal sonic got the lucky way out

In Sonic Heroes Metal Sonic received an upgrade that allowed him to copy the abilities of everyone, he lost most of his power after that but the data is still within him, that's where the "I'm basically you with everybody combined" line comes from.
