I miss this. The ranking system was actually a challenge in Unleashed, compared to Colors and Generations. You get to the goal as fast as possible, defeat a good amount of enemies, take alternate routes, don't get hit once, and collect as many rings as possible to get an S rank. Colors is a bit easier but still a bit of a challenge. Generations is literally just getting the goal asap, meaning an easy S rank. Heck, even if you take much time, you'd still get an S or at least A rank. Not to mention the Sonic's Unleashed animations for different ranks. From S rank - feeling so proud of himself to E rank - very disappointed. Even the E rank music gives you the feeling you did horrible. Even games before Unleashed, he says a certain line admitting the fact it wasn't a good run. Sonic Colors, Generations, and seemingly Forces animations - low ranks are just not as celebratory as higher ranks but at the end, he's still happy. Not a problem but I prefer Sonic actually getting the feeling that he needs to improve rather than just basically saying "Whatever, I still won" through the worst times lol.

@@tails230 IDK about that Unleashed's ranking was harder than SA2's considering some levels required you to not get hit at all because of ring count. SA2's on the other hand didn't put much of an emphasis on ring count as Unleashed or 06 & just mainly relied on points via tricks & enemh combos. However both are still better than Gens which is very bare bones.

I never understood why on the Wii version Hedgehog is happy when he gets a B rank but Werehog is upset. Also, the same thing goes to why Sonic becomes more agressive when he turns into a Werehog, overall.(The last instance I mentioned and D-rank (He says: "*sigh* Can I start over?" and just walks away) and E-rank (He says: "Darn! *facepalm*" and falls on his back (*Ow* that was probably painful, yeah, just like in Sonic Lost World. Don't know? See the ending.)) reactions in the HD version)
