They really should’ve brought back a Shadow The Hedgehog level. Westopolis, Black Comet, or (my personal favorite) Digital Circut/Mad Matrix would be fun levels. Seems odd they didn’t do it. Could’ve fixed my OCD a bit too. They can have Space Colony Ark and Rail Canyon become “The Origin Era,” A Shadow Level and Kingdom Valley become…a middle era (I can’t think of a name), and then Sunset Heights and Chaos Island become “The Future Era.” That would’ve worked out.

Man this was such a fun stream (no shadow 05 level and nitpicks aside) I’m super happy I was able to see Rads reactions to the game, I lost a lot of sleep in the process to watch the whole thing but nevertheless it was worth it. Best argument I've heard on why there's no Shadow 05 levels is that the Time Eater specifically targeted EGGMAN'S defeats, and Eggman probably wouldn't count Shadow 05 as HIS defeat specifically. Radical Highway is always Black Doom's domain, specifically trying to drudge up the bad memories Shadow has of when he was an angsty shitlord trying to destroy the world and get him big mad, which would let him take over Shadow's mind/body easier.

Having 2D segments separated into their own levels that you know will be 2D going in helps the perception of them a lot. I think how 2D/3D constantly transitioned between levels, and many cases having 2D dominate levels that sets themselves up with 3D, was more of the issue than 2D gameplay on its own.

I just want a new fully 3D Sonic game man. Only having Sonic Speed Simulator and Sonic Dream Team as the newest fully 3D Sonic games does suck (speed simulator is a grindy game filled with micro transactions and they are locking skins behind gambling as well since the flipping gold eggs were added and dream team is Apple Arcade only and most fans can't even play it, including me). I want a new fully 3D console Sonic game since we didn't get one since Sonic 06. I do like 2D, 3D and 2.5D when they're done well though and SonicxShadow Generations had good level design so it's not a issue for me. Only 2D/only 3D levels are easy to digest probably though.

My guess is that Westopolis was originally going to be a level in the game but they needed to create a level inspired in the new Sonic movie so they tweaked some stuff to turn Westopolis into that Tokyo DLC that is releasing in december.

Like, Forces and Frontiers could both get away with just reusing a bunch of pre-existing assets, and Metal Overlord also just recoloring assets from them to pretend it's set in Final Fortress.

The final stage is remixed westopolis in my eyes while the first stage is the actual 05 stages, act 1 ark pulls heavily from the shadow ark stages but act 2 is his sa2 ark stage, act 1 radical highway pulls from sa2 but act 2 radical highway even starts with the westopolis fall and a fucked up city being sieged by aliens

It's also being theorized that the "T" person who found the journal might be Maria's sister with how she's tearing to know more about her family, specifically Gerald and Maria. Hopefully this actually leads to something (and given Ian Flynn is behind the story and seems to be who will be behind most of the major stories going forward, I'm hopeful that it'll be followed up on)

Maria was stuck on the Ark, since the effects of her disease aren't as extreme in space, and it was taking years for Gerald to find a cure. Judging by Maria's dialog, she must have met her baby sister at some point. Maybe her family came to visit on rare occasions.

The weird priorities they had for the levels are the closest thing I have to a negative for this game barring the length, like most people, but the levels we do have are so much stinking fun that any criticisms I have are completely stamped out. The only thing that makes less sense than the fact that Radical Highway is the last level is the fact that they made it work FLAWLESSLY.

I'm so disappointed no Shadow '05 levels made it into the game. Westopolis being excluded I kinda get it, as you can't remake it without the army vs aliens backdrop, so lot's of guns onscreen. But there are plenty of really gorgeous levels that don't actually need the warring factions in order to work, like Glyphic Canyon, Cryptic Castle, Circus Park and Mad Matrix. Not only that but they could have put Sky Troops into the game, as it is 100% cartoon violence (Aliens vs Eggman Robots) and it would be absolutely stunning to see the floating ruins remade with current graphics.

Shadow the hedgehog flash game (just a flash game promoting the shadow 2005 console game. The flash game was 2.5D and cluncky btw); 3. Shadow shoot old mobile java game (2.5D sidescroller runner game where shadow can shoot with a gun, dodge obstacles and fight bosses. Surprisingly it has a story as well. Shadow just wants to retrieve the chaos emeralds from Eggman tho); 4. Shadow Grinder McDonald's Happy Meal LCD game (Shadow just grinds on rails and has to jump at the right time); 5. Shadow Hockey McDonald's Happy Meal LCD game; 6. Shadow Basketball McDonald's Happy Meal LCD game; 7.Shadow XS flash game (a flash game on 4kids website. It was really bad btw). Shadow DLC/episode releases: 1. Sonic Forces Episode Shadow(also allows you to play as Shadow in some modern Sonic levels as well); 2. SonicxShadow Generations(game in this video). You can play the McDonald's LCD games inside the fan game Sonic McOrigins Plus, which is a game where a fan scanned and recreated the original McDonald's Sonic LCD games in. It's really accurate to those. As for the other Shadow games mentioned here you need flash emulator for the flash games (flash point emulator for example); gamecube/og xbox/ps2 emulator for Shadow 2005 console game(dolphin emulator for GameCube for example); java emulator or a old java flip phone with internet for the Shadow Shoot java mobile game. Yes. I did play all of these and you can as well trough the means I mentioned.

Sega has officially stated the ARK is a Shadow 05 level. Not sure why no one gets this. You can think it’s a bad choice all you want (I do) but from Sega’s perspective they included a level.

that's because the level is closer to Crazy Gadget that it is to Cosmic Fall and Space Gadget. and has nothing in common with Lost Impact and The Doom, which is more understandable, but still
