Shadow is not Sonic That’s something I’m grateful that the devs behind Sonic X Shadow Gen understood when creating this game so that the Shadow part of the game just doesn’t feel like Sonic’s with a different skin Sure, they might be similar, but Shadow has enough unique elements to his character to set him apart and make his gameplay different from Sonic’s Instead of Spin Dash, Shadow uses Chaos Control to impact into enemies Shadow can run on the walls thanks to his Air Shoes, and he can use Chaos Control to deliver more damage onto certain obstacles All of this and more is enough for the Shadow experience to be separated from Sonic’s and still be enjoyable, something I’m so glad that they decided to do

My biggest thing about this franchise is they teased sonic can also use chaos control but never touched on it again after SA2. Sonic just feels like a stagnant character in terms of what he’s capable of whereas shadow is constantly learning new things Shadow is just better in every way, its less about his personality and how he just constantly evolves without plot armor

Sonic is an odd creature even in Shadow's eyes. He can evolve with just about every power in the universe thrown at him. But Shadow... he is the ultimate lifeform. And from being ambidextrous, to picking up any weapon or method of fighting and acing it he has proven time and again that he is able to evolve above and beyond what he was designed to be. And it partially has to do with how his mind works. Though credit where credit is due, Sonic can clearly improve 😅
