Schneiders Laden Legendary Synth Store in Berlin - Tour and Interview

Schneiders Laden is probably one of the most famous synth shops in the world - founded by the energetic Andreas Schneider - who also is the guy behind the team behind Superbooth.
Big plans for sales, concerts, workshops and media production are underway, the store has a launch event tomorrow night (works completed by mid January 2025) and adding to that, there's a London store called Schneiders Keller opening in Denmark St in the basement of Rough Trade, that will also be running a preview event from 12th Dec-15th between 1pm and 7pm where you can drop in and visit and patch.

Always preferred Schneiders over Thomann and other big retailers when it comes to modular synths. Haven't found more amazing people from anywhere. Great video tour, thanks Sonic State.

Schneiders Laden should be a must visit for synth fans in Berlin . It is an amazing and oh so friendly unique store that I have visited each of the last two years on the eve of Superbooth and lost myself for hours trying out modules. I wish it well and look forward to its store in Denmark Street.

The old Bading's store is one of my favourite buildings in Berlin (I used to live around the corner) and was always wondering what would become of it. Now I can rest easy knowing that it is in Andreas Schneider's capable hands. Looking forward to visiting soon.

New to me but nice to have such shop in your neighbourhood :). With Thomann i've good experience but a word about Musicstore in Cologne: They are utterly a-holes imo. I bought a (troublesome) Prophet Rev 2 and did send it back twice and they nearly did about nothing to fix problems. They kept it at the shell for months...I told them, if they couldn't fix the problem than send it to the European Repair Center that is also located in Germany. Because it had still manufacturer's warranty.They ignored me, were unpolite and did send my rig back again without fixing anything. If you buy something expensive and have such a nice shop as Schneiders Laden at your place; nowadays I rather would go to a physical shop so I can keep in touch with the people.

@@Goratek Looks like it yeah. The Kottbusser location was a bit of an icon though. I used to get off at Kottbusser and walk to Gorlitzer to my old office at Kopenicker. Couldn't stand to ride the train that last stop. Plus in the summer was a good walk usually. Gonna miss that place. Was a great detour on my lunchtime walks. Neukoln isn't far I guess but it's not on my route.

But greatful it still exists other than just music which closed it's doors for ever! But the new store in Neukölln is going to be awesome, just watched an interview with Herr Schneider and synth anatomy

Just Music store is closed since half a year. The couldn't hold up against Thomann and co. Schneidersladen is the last remaining music store in Berlin.

@@MrVoonix Whoa. That's crazy. In the much smaller city of Cologne, "Music Store" in the Kalk district on the right bank of the river Rhine is a pilgrimage site for musicians from the region. Now that "Just Music" has closed, does that mean Andreas now also offers mainstream products, i.e. Montage, Fantom and Kronos? That would make sense, because after all there is a music college in Berlin (as well as in Cologne).

@Klaas-g3t music store is almost the only competitor left for thomann. In the 80s there were so many music shops all around. Also in the city center of Cologne. Music store was also rather small back then. We had a specialized synth store on the early 90s in my home town , which was pretty cool. I used to go there and drink coffee and chat with the sales guys for hours. It was so much fun back in those days. Now it’s all internet and huge companies. There isn’t even a musicmesse anymore. What a shame

@Klaas-g3tI live in Köln and can assure you that musicstore is not only for the people of the region, but rather they are from all over Europe. No wonder since a flight to CGN is not that expensive as there are many low cost carriers. It’s worth a visit! One can even hang out at the bar in the shop.
