I'm here because of Michael "venom" Page, my favorite fighter, I learned about his background in point fighting and at first I had no idea what it even was. Once I started watching his point fighting matches from 9 years ago, I began to realize how interesting this really is.

You're vulnerable anytime you cross your legs. If you dont move very fast, then you're giving the advantage is your opponent. Correct? Maybe not, but I always think it's a bad to cross your legs, even with very high skill level. With that said, my knowledge is limited. What am I missing?
@jamesmiles13284 жыл бұрын
Your not missing anything it’s always a no no to cross legs,top fighters will knock you flying catch you of balance,in sport karate we blitz by lunging off the lead leg flying through the opponent watch raymond Daniels and MVP,don’t get why you would drag your leg back then cross legs weird and to slow,

@@Mightymike1969 don’t blitz crossing legs lol,leap of lead leg,videos raymond Daniels showing you how to do it,what if someone blitz you at time put leg behind your go flying lol

@@jamesmiles1328 Two types of blitzes. The California Blitz, made popular by the great Steve Nasty Anderson and the leaping blitz used by Billy Blanks. Both highly effective.

@ James Miles. You do temporarily cross your legs on a running blitz. Since your feet are attached to your legs, they cross as well.

The 1st application has to be modified for our organization, we can't step forward with the rear leg for the point to count on a reverse punch

Seems like an odd rule, but every organization has its rules.

That front foot shouldn’t move backwards. You fight a good kicker like myself and I’m going to sidekick you coming in every time. The front handed blitz push off should happen as you lean and go off the front foot. It’s less than a second you gain but that is the difference between catching a sidekick in the ribs and getting scored on and beating the sidekick and scoring.
@JordanBrownKicks6 жыл бұрын
This would be true, but if you watched more of my videos and you would realize I’m a kicker and coming from that perspective. By bringing the foot back it helps hide the movement forward, is usually transition my weight quite a bit while setting up techniques for that reason.

@@JordanBrownKicks kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaPbiqt_e9hkY6c This is what the front handed blitz should look if it is to be effective in open type point sparring (non-ATA, TKD, WTF, NKF rules). See the lean and go? The best and most effective blitzers (Raymond Daniels, Jadi Tention, Avery Plowden, Bailey Murphy, Tyreeke Saint, and so many more) are lighting fast off the front foot. Moving the foot backwards gives away that you are about to do something and crossing your feet is just a bad idea generally. I'm not knocking your ability, as you're a good kicker. I just fight a lot of fast guys who would see that slight step adjustment and punish me if I did it.
@JordanBrownKicks6 жыл бұрын
That could be correct, but again, you have to realize that there are more ways to do things than just one way. If everyone only did one way for each move then you would always see everything coming. You can’t just use one technique. I’m always showing ways to change things up to give people the most tools for their tool belt.
@brandonmathews88176 жыл бұрын
@@JordanBrownKicks The way you change it up is through the use of movement, footwork, angles, pace, setups (hands to hands, feet to hands, etc.). I'll stick with what the best in the business do. I'm pretty sure I won't see guys like Avery Plowden, James Pore or Bailey Murphy stepping backward to blitz forward. They'll cut the angle, set it up with fakes, or some other technique. Just sayin'...its shark infested waters out there these days and stuff like this will get you eaten like chum.

Brandon Mathews actually Raymond Daniels doesn’t just go off the front foot. He teaches blitzing by pushing off of both legs.
