I absolutely love the line “I stop to say hello cause I think you should know by now”, sounds like a true and emotional message from someone who’s trying to get rid of the things that harm him

One of the best songs ever written, and the acoustic stripped back versions better than the original.

My friend and me Looking through her red box of memories Faded I'm sure But love seems to stick in her veins you know Yes, there's love if you want it Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord Yes, there's love if you want it Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord My lord Why can't you see That nature has its way of warning me Eyes open wide Looking at the heavens with a tear in my eye Yes, there's love if you want it Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord Yes, there's love if you want it Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord My lord Sinking faster than a boat without a hull My lord Dreaming about the day when I can see you there My side By my side Here we go again and my head is gone, my lord I stop to say hello 'Cause I think you should know, by now By now By now By now By now By now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now Oh, by now

You'd expect the best acoustic version to come from the writer of the song... doesn't disappoint! Carefully played/ sung. 3 mins 23-25 seconds ("here we go again....".etc) very nicely done on the strumming/can clearly hear the change...smooth and subtle

@@johnabrahams317 I know but it’s only through hard work and relentless repetition that you get that effect plus it kinda hellos when he is the primary songwriter of the song as well . Not knocking him or trying to take anything away from , not at all as I’m a massive Ashcroft fan . The guys a musical genius

Is it sad that I have to come back to bands like the verve to find any meaning in songs? Where the next Richard Ashcroft or Noel Gallagher? Instead we get materialistic garbage 😞
