So, yeah, you'll be missing the vocals if you wanna hop into this genre. But personally I like songs without vocals because that seems to soothe me when I need it with the absence of human voice that'd drill into my head otherwise. (If they sing in Math Rocks, they sing with a soft voice and that's another charming feature about it.)

So Nagara, in the end, had two compasses, the one copied and the compass got from Asakaze. Just stop the video right when the Principal says that and you'll notice a blond girl standing in a hallway. accidentally found this gem of an anime cuz of the poster. it looks weird. they're in a school rooftop but the sky is completely devoid of any color. it's just black. so i watched the 1st episode and it was perfectly what i expected: the sky is literally black. what i didn't expect was them stranded on an island, middle schoolers trying to understand quantum physics and interdimensional traveling. so many information squeezed in 12 episodes that watching this anime felt like forever. it's almost as if i went adrift for 2000 years, more or less, with them. looking back at the poster, the sky's blue now. they're back. what a journey this has been.
@aoi_nagara3 жыл бұрын
You know it is really unclear whether they went back or they created a new world where Nozomi isn't dead. I think they went to a possible reality where Nozomi isn't dead as Nagara is an observer and he again opened a box of realities as he did in the beginning which caused the drift.

@@pacoag99 Before handing Nagara the original Mizuho compass, Asakaze's talks about how Hateno Island sank and that Rajdhani became a forest already. This alludes to an earlier conversation while building the rocket, where Rajdhani himself predicted that after enough time passed, the accumulation of unbalancedness inside him would turn him into a form "like Nozomi". In other words, even though from the perspective of the viewer, Nagara and Mizuho only took a few minutes to fly to the intersection of worlds using their rocket, enough time has passed in the these worlds while they were gone for Rajdhani to 'die' and for Hateno Island to sink. Asakaze himself bore witness to these fact personally, which means he must have been subjected to the different flow of time inside the these worlds too. In the end, Asakaze has experienced so much time, probably thousands of years, that returning to the real world would actually kill him (since it's stated again and again that Nagara and Mizuho were only able to pull off their return trip because they spent a brief time in the these worlds, two years total, otherwise the rule of 'time spent in the this world can't be taken back' would have left them stranded like everybody else). TL:DR Old man Asakaze would most likely have turned to dust if he had tried to go with NagaMizu.

I didn't understand every line when I first heard the song, but the opening "Let we aou" hit me. Hearing someone plead to you in two of your languages to see a person again - I don't think you can understand how it feels until you speak two languages. So on that note, indulge me as I give two notes from the translator (me!): The opening line, to me, is so beautiful if you understand both Japanese and English. The first words: "Mou fureta" is like the mental image of two hands' fingers touching. "Let we aou" - Let we is using English's subjects to plead, while aou is a statement - 'should meet.' The Japanese wordplay is so fun. Ou (追う) = to chase, Oou = to hide, Ou (負う) = to carry. E = image, Te = hand, and it looks like the use the onyomi for shadow (影) which is Ei. Three "o" sounds and three "e" sounds.

One of the animes that are better rewatched in one sitting. I'm enjoying Monogatari more on each rewatch. I'm willing to bet it's the same on Sonny Boy.

Approach it as a surreal piece of art. Surrealism taps into ones ability to find magic and beauty in the uncanny and the unexpected, the need for logical explanation to everything and conventional think will fall by the way side

I think to best experience sonny boy you have to watch it over multiple sittings, and probably multiple times, but that is completely worth it considering what a masterpiece it is
@magicman6908 Жыл бұрын
@@Shivam-vr6eh I cannot disagree more. I think Episode 1 was the weakest, and that it only got better from there. But I also felt that it was a masterpiece in philosophical and surrealist anime that made you think long and hard and accept that there are things in life you wont understand.

i feel like a total nostalgic boomer prematurely speaking. even though i'm in my 20s having gone through a lot yet not enough to find accomplishments but we must let go of the past and future equally. escapism is all fine and dandy until your anhedonia sets in. neet it up while you still can but embrace normalcy of working or studying and vice versa. it all boils down to multiple paths. deep yet shallow as it can get.

True, the recurring reminder of “you can’t go back (to the old world)” is a metaphor of the childhood/past that was left behind and cannot be brought back again
@aoi_nagara3 жыл бұрын
@@nguyntn9026 I saw this on the top comment on ani-one This really hurts so much that when we grow up we have our duties and responsibilities to do and we have to leave our past self behind. So many friends will not be in touch and we will not even have time to hang out with friends. This is life, you can never go back to the past and you can never change the past but what you can do is move forward and change the future,just as Nagara or Nozomi said(I don't remember who said that). This anime is not very emotional but very impactful.

i remember the first time i heard this that exact point was from when a drastic change subsequently occurred in my life.... with time i started to realize the feeling of melancholy left behind this anime ,i was almost depressed but at the same time the last line of this anime when nagara said," Our lives are just beginning. What lies ahead will just take a little bit longer."this inspired me and let me realize we cannot change the past so there's no point in holding onto it, what we are able to do is move ahead and shape our future as much as we want. this realization is very important to me, always being a shut in and after an incident i was totally down.Animes like this incite my heart enough to move on..... cause what I need is just a little bit of courage and enthusiasm....

I don’t know what it is, but this single piece of music.. has.. affected me. It’s hard to say how, however It’s one of those “I just know” type of things. It’s mysterious, sorrowful, yet cozy, lively full of emotions that words can’t describe nor express. To put it simply. I love it just for existing.

A true experience watching this, in these times and context. At least, aots, what a jewel!! Also, the entire sequence seems literally composed by Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, what a ride! On the other hand, everyone talking about escaping the Drift but nobody mentions how RajdhaniGod traveled for 2000 years, watched how Death was created and became a forest to live with the animals forever😭😭😭😭😭
@aoi_nagara3 жыл бұрын
Rajdhani really was a good guy. I will miss him.

My 2nd favorite character after Mizuho! Also nobody mentions those times Mizuho blushes around Rajdhani, best one was when he said he developed "scoop scope" technique that let him look at something and get the romantic scoop. He turns toward Mizuho in the truck and she blushes and hides behind her cat, lolz! Guess she had a thing for him. Maybe in the real world she'll look up the original Rajdhani.
