It's interesting. On the original Sonny and Cher show, Sonny was the butt of most jokes, but on this version, CHER became the butt of most jokes. In the first monologue, it was pointed out that Cher had divorced Sonny, then married only THREE days later, became pregnant, and was now filing for separation from her second husband! Sonny quipped "So how was single life for three days?" Cher quipped "We've been separated for two years!"... Sonny replied, giving a "sort of" gesture.. "Well..." Truth be told, Sonny and Cher remained very friendly since separating.

Interesting - for the people who say they seem so happy together, even when divorced - notice when Sonny has his arm around Cher - HER right arm is Between him & and her, as if she's trying to block him. @Gorbachenko I don't think any American who remembers them together has ever gotten over it. They got letters from strangers begging them to reconcile. Besides Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, S&C are the only other celebrity couple I can think of whose breakup saddened the public so much. I don't think anyone ever truly believed that these two stopped loving each other. You cannot fake the chemistry they had. Neither divorce nor death could break the bond or erase the love.

I've seen 3 different heights for Cher - 5'7", 5'8" & 5'9". I saw her at a restaurant when she was filming Silkwood & she walked right by our table. I was struck by how small she was; I'm almost 5'6" and small. She looked a little taller than me. She's small, but her legs go on forever. So I'd say she's somewhere between 5'7" & 5'8" like you said.

Bob Dylan’s View is a thousand times better. However....I’m 55 grew up watching this....one of many variety shows! Cher was very sexy! She pushed TV standards! Wonderful! Sonny played the perfect straight guy! A mildly entertaining show. Brady Bunch also had a Variety Show. Andy Williams. Hee Haw Show cased Country music states. Lawrence Welk Show cased Hits from the 30’s n 40’s. You only had...3-4 channels of TV. Laugh In. Was probably the most Adult.Late Night you had....Monty Python. Sha-na-na. And SNL. And Fridays. And Johnny Carson. Soul Train.

Hi - I think All I Really Want To Do featured a few times during the show's run, but this is most definitely from The Sonny & Cher Show - I have the full video that I recorded from TV and the guest star is Farrah Fawcett. It aired in January 1977 Guests: Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Debbie Reynolds, Jim Nabors, Don Knotts and Chastity Bono 1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "All I Really Want To Do" and banter about the network moving their show to a later time slot. 2. "The Battle Of the Sexes" -- Sonny and Cher spend the evening with an old school chum (Farrah) and her sniveling husband (Don). 3. "The Wonderful World Of Barbara Nauseous" -- Jim joins Sonny and Cher in a countrified parody of a Presidential inaugural. 4. Debbie performs "Having a Party" 5. Cher and Farrah portray two shipwrecked clotheshorses, stranded on a deserted island with only their wardrobes and cosmetics. 6. Italian film director Vente Nove (Sonny) shows a trailer for his new movie, "Planet Of the Noseglasses", which stars Cher, Debbie and Don. 7. Sonny and Cher introduce their former conductor, Harold Battiste, and reminisce about their early career together. They then perform "Baby Don't Go", their first hit song. 8. Sonny and Cher close the show.

I believe Sonny at that time was being selfish and totally in control of Cher's as well as his finances. Cher was naive when she got involved and was matured of what to expect from Sonny. As for Gregg - a total addict for years which Cher just accidentally jumped into that relationship considering Sonny being too controlling and after the divorce she just foolishly got into a relationship with Gregg Allman. She did right to separate and later divorce Gregg Allman. Nothing is worse than a person who is totally involved in drugs.

Ruined bob Dylan's song in a way deeper than you would think personally the song had a meaning from bob Dylan it was something simple yet summing up his thoughts and the idea of the song in bob Dylan's original was stating that the relationship was coming from the heart the purpose and desire to care for that person but the fact that Donny and Cher performed in a way that was not particularly original nor deep and only to be a gimmick for a simple pop song was distasteful. (MY Opinion)
