Just recently connected it to openhab without any soldering. So if you want zigbee control of existing switches, take it. The only thing range is only ~10m, maybe it's just my case as zbmini is inside of socket behind aluminium cover of the socket.
@digiblurDIY3 жыл бұрын
That sounds pretty small in range. But it could be many other factors as you suggest. Grounded metal objects don't play well with RF especially not 2.4ghz. You might need to put another mains powered device in between for a healthier mesh.

Hi. I use a Tasmota flashed Sonoff Zigbee Switch. I connected a ZBMINI to it and as well a sonoff motion sensor. The issue is now that the motion sensor is not longer sending his battery state and occupancy value via the ZBMINI. I only get the "ZoneStatusChange" "EndPoint" and "LinkQuality". I thought 230V components will route every information to the Zigbee gateway. Any advice on that? Thanks in advance.

One note that I found out so far, the ZBMINI does act as a router but is incompatible with Aqara end network devices. Meaning my in-wall switches were dropping Aqara sensor after couple of hours of working fine.

That would be due to Aqara not following the Zigbee spec. See here community.hubitat.com/t/xiaomi-aqara-devices-pairing-keeping-them-connected/623

I don’t see Sonoff routers under the section of “Zigbee repeaters reported NOT to work with Xiaomi devices” on that post. Let’s hope the problem is the battery replacement or something else because the solution “replace all your incompatible routers” is very expensive.

It is best practice to have the relay, breaker and wiring rated at a load greater than actually required . 16 amp is a good size breaker for a 10 amp circuit as generally used in lighting applications . That 16 amp relay is correctly sized
@digiblurDIY4 жыл бұрын
Correct. The whole weakest link is supposed to be the breaker. Luckily we are in the LED world but you never know what people could connect if you aren't around in some situations. You could use a 10a inline fuse if needed.

Great video as usual! Can of offer some advice on how the MQTT can communicate with HA from the Sonoff Zigbee bridge? It appears to use the same message, just with the device name in in the payload, rather than a device specific message. This makes it difficult to read in HA without doing some complex scripting!

Does anyone have recommendation for a HA compatible light-switch that is designed for a room without any overhead lighting? The ideal light switch would be stick-on to wall (or small nails/screws), battery operated, and HA compatible with a few buttons on it instead of just a single toggle. I assume a product like this would not be 100% flush in wall and I am okay with that as I do not want a permanent install product. This is ideal for apartment renters who want to stick on a light switch for their 1 year lease and plan to remove it when they leave. Thanks!
