Really great video. I just recently purchases a Bean Gen 2. And as you said, a new Sub or mini Sub is just WAY to expensive. I found a deal for an old beat up Gen 1 Sub on eBay and will be connecting it up tonight when I get home. I'm very hopeful it will be able to take some load off the Bean and make the dialog even more clear. I am happy so far with the Bean Gen 2 but have high hopes for the Gen 1 Sub adding even more quality to the setup.

I’m sure it’ll make a big difference - it’ll help open up the Beam and just make the listening experience that much better. Glad you like the video 🙂

@@HamerReviews I just found out that I'll need to connect the sub or the beam using an ethernet cable? Reportedly, I can't pair the Sub to the Beam if I don't have AT LEAST 1 of them connected to my network with an ethernet. I didn't know that was a requirement as I only have 1 ethernet cable in that room already connected to the TV and the beam added to my home wifi. I really don't want to add a network switch in that room if I can avoid it.

Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience. I paired the Beam with the Sub Mini and it was a game changer. Sound is quite amazing. It adds another element to the total package. My room is small (12X12) so this setup works well. This setup will work well for most if the room is somewhat on the smaller side.

So glad to hear it, I think our room sizes are similar - I love what this adds for movies and the like

@HamerReviews - also agree with you on the footprint of the beam. It is smaller but it packs a punch.

Yep I have a Beam gen2 and really considering a Sub mini, Amazon selling them for around £320

That’s not bad, I paid around £300 with the discounts I was being offered direct from Sonos so not far off

Looks quite funky! What’s the connectivity like for the soundbar?

The Beam Gen 2 is super easy to setup - Wi-Fo for AirPlay but also HMDI for eArc or you can use a converter for optical connectivity

@@HamerReviews can it connect to the TV wirelessly as well?

@@2007ACE2007sadly not - a HDMI connection is still required on Beam gen 2 and Arc

would the BEAM 2 + SUB MINI + ERA 100's be sufficient for a 12x14 foot room with 7.5 foot ceiling ? like to watch sports / movies / news channels or would just the ARC ULTRA by itself be just as good ? thx a bunch cheers from Canada

Sorry for the late reply, been very unwell. GREAT question though. In all honest that sub makes such a huge difference I’d go beam over the newer Arc ultra. It is much better than the Beam 2 from what I’ve heard but I doubt it can replicate the deep rumble of the sub mini, for sports and movies I honestly think the double combo is better. Unless you think you’ll add a sub to the arc in the future?

atm this deal 800£ on Sonos :D I was wondering should i buy top tier lg or Samsung home cinema set ? because rrp is 1600£ but you can buy those sets roughly for 500-900£ with codes.. but build quality looks shit but idk about audio quality.. atm sonos is my 1st pick, just waiting for discount and I'm making a move :D

Interesting question... Some of the Samsung kit is really good, my parents have their soundbar and sub combo and it is surprisingly decent. Sonos is more customizable and more expandable - which you often don't get as an option with the others.. I'd probably go Sonos to be honest.

Hi, I am looking at getting the mini-sub, but have a Gen 1. Will it still work?
