Walton Goggins instantly elevates any show he's in. After SoA you should watch Justified, he's superb in that, as is Timothy Olyphant.

I was actually going to recommend The Sheild too! I had no idea Kurt Sutter did that show first, but after finishing SoA and then going back and binging that show, it was SO good seeing all the familiar cast as younger and different characters in what feels like an inverted version of Sons with the police🙌

This is probably my favorite episode of Season 6. Nothing bad really happens, we find out Bobby wasn't planning on leaving, he was recruiting the whole time, and the guys he picked are straight up loyal and about the brotherhood, and we got to have some fun with the crooked cops at the end. It's perfect.

I want to say the next episode is my favorite episode of Season 6. It's the episode focused heavily on Venus (I like the Venus character). Also Adrienne Barbeau is in the episode as Venus' mother. I'm a big fan of the original The Fog and I like Adrienne Barbeau. Plus the speech she gives in the episode has lots of foreshadowing (I can say that now since Nikki and Steven have finished the show).

Yeah it was a really welcome breather for the club AND the audience during this hectic opening to this season. Also I think this might have been the episode where I started to ease my worry about Juice's safety within the club especially when Jax said he had nothing to prove and that they were good. And it looked like he was coming to terms with who he was and what he had to REALLY be to be part of an organization like this. But yeah I can say without worry as they are far enough ahead on patreon that he just seems to keep getting himself into sticky situations our Juicy boy.

Venus Van Damme is played by Walton Goggins who was a main character in “The Shield” and whenever he needed to use a fake name in that show he would call himself Cletus Van Damme.

There are a load of actors from The Shield that have had roles in SOA . The Shield is one of the best Cop shows ever made in my opinion 👍👍👍👍👍👍I really hope Nikki and Steven react to The Shield I think they would love it .

That destroyed bike that used to be in the club wall for the rest of the show, for those who are not aware, was John teller's bike, a 1946 (i think) knucklehead, and if I am not mistaken, is the same bike he rode in his accident that killed him, so it has a deep emotional meaning for jax. Keep an eye on it for the rest of the show. It has a bigger part yet to be played.

Have you noticed that they play "John The Revelator" every time that Jax makes some sort of powerful statement or moves the club into a progressive phase? Like at the end of Season One at Donna's funeral and a few other times since.

I loved when I heard Steve Howey was hanging around the behind the scenes and Kurt found a way to slide him into the show, but he couldn't go full time for his commitment to Shameless. Terrible situation, but he could've been a great asset. And if you noticed Bobby said "It is good to be back.", Jax immediately looks over his shoulder, smiles and nods at Bobby. This shows how much brotherly love he had for Bobby. He is also a moral compass for Jax.

Anyone else notice that Montez isn't actually in this episode? They have a (much taller) stand-in for Jacob Vargas, he wasn't at the table and they don't show his face at the garage or when Hopper says goodbye to him, Quinn and West.

If they weren't going to use a trans actor for Venus, Goggins did about the best someone could do with that character. I'm glad they didn't make her a joke. Probably one of the best written characters of the show, and I mean that.

It's a good thing the show came out when it did. Nowadays actors can't act. Now people are demanding that real life cops play cops, real life doctors and nurses play doctors and nurse, and so on. Same thing with "The Alphabet Community." I guess people forgot what an actor or actress' job is aka to play someone they aren't. And with that, if SOA was made now, there would be all kinds of boycotts or petitions to get it canceled. Probably the whole cast would be attacked because they aren't real bikers/part of a motorcycle club. Happy would probably be the only safe cast member.

If I got facts correct, they are waiting for the 3+ hour R-rated Extended Cut to release before they watch it. That's why they watched the new Hunger Games movie instead.
