SONY 900E GAME SETTINGS TO TWEAK FOR A BIT MORE POP

I still use my 900E as my main TV since I purchased it in 2017. I reset the TV about twice a year during routine security maintenance of my digital hardware. I always come back to this video when re-setting up my Game picture mode. Ha! Thanks for this. Figured I’d chime in after all this time.

For single player games I mostly use cinema pro picture mode because it offers deep blacks, nice colors. For FPS titles and multiplayer I use game mode. Nice video as usual my friend. ;) These are my settings for single plater games (I use Sony X930E): - Cinema Pro picture mode - Color 73 (you almost can't oversaturate the image on cinema pro, especially on HDR), Uncharted 4 looks stunning on cinema pro with 73 color - Brightness 35 or 40 on SDR content, max on HDR - Contrast 95 - gamma -1 (gamma on -1 gives the image more pop) - Black level 50 - Black adjust on high - Advanced contrast enhancer on high (cinema pro doesn't overexpose the image) - Auto local dimming on high - X-tended Dynamic Range on high - Hue is 0 - Color Temp is warm - Live color on medium

That was a great video. I dont have the Sony Bravia X900 series. I have the X800E Series and my question is, would these settings you just mentioned work for this model?

Great video! I am always getting your help. Thanks. I love Cine Motion. However, it is unfortunate that it is disabled in game mode. So I'm enjoying most games in standard mode. I would like to try fps as a standard too. Is this possible? The problem of input delay ... gooood !!

Nice settings my friend. I don't know why the live color in game mode makes everything so red. It's on low, but still the colors are way oversaturated. That's weird.

Grest video! I have a question. I have a X900E TV, but what I watch movies on my Blu-ray player, Netflix or even my PS4 the background image bounces a little, especially when I have the motion effect off. Does your TV do the same thing?

marco navarrete hello Marco! Thank you for your question! You really shouldn't see anything like that . If it was just your cable feed I'd understand. If you see it on blurays or games I would do a factory reset here is a video on how to do it kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZOnhKmFZdmrY6s also make sure your HDMI cables are 2.0 18gpbs. Let me know if the reset helps

Whisper Status 74 Thank you for your reply. I have done a factory reset before on my Blu-ray but not my PlayStation. The HDMI cable is the same kind that you mentioned. It also does it on my Netflix and I use the Netflix app that comes with the tv. It is more noticeable with scenes with bright lights not that much with dark scenes. What I want to do is i have the protection plan with bestbuy and have them check out the tv,, thank you so much for your feedback.

I used to get so hung up on accuracy. On my older displays, I'd spend days calibrating, checking content, and re-calibrating, only to find myself spending weeks or even months later being unsatisfied with the image. I (not so) quickly realized that it wasn't the quality of the display, but rather that I was being so myopic about my settings. With the last few HDR displays I've owned, including the 900E, I just decided to say fuck it, and set everything to what made me happy. For non-HDR games, I set my color to 63, pump up the brightness, and mostly use similar settings as you're using here. I think the takeaway is if you're trying to hit Rec 709 or 2020 standards, you may find yourself disappointed with your display's performance, when it is fully capable of producing the image you like, you just have to abandon convention to get there.

Hello again so I have my settings on cinema pro,...is sdr better on the 900e for gaming ,and if it is how do I know if it's in sdr mode ....I want the deep colors and pop I can get out of this tv.....it seems so frustrating at times

It all depends on the game and its hdr implementation, red dead REDEMPTION 2 for instance your better with it off however with most titles it's better on . Un the video options leave everything to auto and you should be fine. The picture menu will be grey instead of blue and say HDR I the corner to let you know its enabled . Also make sure you enable your hdmi in the TVs settings kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJuxZKOBmpeeias . Let me know if you need any more help!

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY sure so I have purchased the 900e last yr and I watched some you tube videos on settings for Xbox x but I want the colors to pop a lil more I usually play in cinema pro with the brightness on 98 and contrast at 97 but sometimes the colors look to me washed out.....is there any way to make the black and dark tones deeper so the rest of my colors can pop....I know I can do so much with this set but I feel my settings are not working

I like to turn on black adjust at high and the gamma at minus 1 for sdr . Try dynamic contrast at low and medium for live color. Play with extended dynamic range if its washed out disable it.

I'm coming to Sony from a Samsung.And i must say im a bit disappointed from the colors....I will get used to it of course but it seems that Samsung had more vibrant colors,than my X900f.

The sameung definitely had a wider color gamut thus a more vibrant color that seem feel arent accurate but that's really a matter of taste. Great comment!
