As you know HDMI 2 and 3 are your only fullbandwith HDMI so you'll need to hook your Pc up to one of those. My Pc set up is an intel i7 with 2gtx 980's in sli . I like Qauntum and he was very helpful we just have very different styles. Ever notice any dark lines about an inch off the edges on this TV? I just picked one up and I notice a faint shadowy line down the screen about an inch off the edge on the left side mainly and rarely on the right, particularly when I pan along blue and green colours. I think I can see it on some of your videos to, I haven't owned an edge lit before so I thought it might just be an artifact from that.

Hey dude. Quick question. I notice on your hdr content in gaming. . Your contrast is usually at around 90. For me games like rocket league and God of war have to be dialed back between 75 and 85 depending on what other settings I have set. If not I loose alot of depth and detail no matter how long I mess with calibrating. But games like spiderman I can crank to 90 and everything is perfect. And I can make small tweaks that won't cause loss of detail to whites or blacks. . Have you run into this at all or is my tv super bright lol I know all displays can vary.. Just curious if you've seen similar scenarios.

Thank you for your question distillion! HDR Is wierd as it is unpredictable in both game and in your specific settings. It can be bland, it can overly washed out and i think the balance lies between your settings and then the in game settings however in some games the in game settings can be broken . In forza horizon 3 the hdr slider made everything way to dark. So I suggest that if you keep getting this with your contrast try adjustments to the in game menu first then see if that helps . @@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY dude.. You were right.. I just had to mess with hdr options in game and make it match with hdr 10.. And this also made me realize. Rocket league does not even have hdr.. Wtf lol that's why it does not change automatically. And when I force hdr 10.. It gets way too vibrant in certain areas. Hence me dialing down contrast. Thanks brother. I have a better understanding now.. But one more thing... Do you recommend forcing hdr10 on non hdr games if you can get a sweet spot with out loosing detail. Or just leave it on sdr and tweak a few settings accordingly.. Thank God I found your channel. Peace brother.

Bfi mde things pretty dark in The different picture modes. It was a strange experience lol. I wnt back to my st60 pretty quickly. I do think im missing something with 4k and the extra pop from higher peak brightness that an lcd can provide

I have a question about Sony X930E. When I'm in a game picture mode in SDR and when I switch live color on low everything becomes so RED, immediately oversaturated. Do you know why? It's only on low. However, on cinema pro picture mode live color on max is not oversaturated.

Tomek Żyła it all depends on the game , also each preset regardless of the color temp you use already has it's on built it color settings so live color will look very different and not different at all. Stop worrying brother and just enjoy it as you have a good panel

Brave Rules the input lag is on the high side at 31ms but I haven't noticed any difference between the 900E and my Samsung 9000 which was 21ms. What's more important is it's excellent motion and pixel response. I also use the 900E for online multiplayer. Hey isn't sharpness never suppose to go below 50 because that equals 0 sharpness on other brands so sharpness 15 is actually -35 sharpness? Im not sure I could be wrong

@Whisper Status 19 You should really set your tv hdmi range to full......by default consoles set the hdmi color range to limited. When set to full the color range will go from 0 - 255 (0= absolute black, 255 = absolute white). This will increase your color range from 16 - 235. Limited color range is normally okay for console games because of the natural color compression in console games and certain 1080p modern tvs (this is that cartoon look). While the full hdmi color range expands the color gamut to tone down the color saturation and adds more complex division of colors to give you a more realistic picture.

Whisper Status 74 You should have 4:4:4 unlocked when you set the display to full instead of auto. Auto locks the display into the 4:2:2 or 4:2:0. When using your tv as a pc monitor the, the color range open up to be more consistent with the real life color spectrum, rather than the compressed 4:2:2 or 4:2:0. You should then be able to set your Nvidia panel setting to 4:4:4.

Yes and no my friend. It's a great 4k display with good hdr but it's gettting pretty old and newer models are brighter and have dolby vision. But keep in mind it's successor isn't the 900h. It's the 900f 950g and 950h. I hope this helps and thank you for watching the video and channel

It is normal to have some as the 940 is one of the brightest displays and even though the full array is amazing and has many zones it's not completely perfect on every type of content . That is the best aspect of oled however you give up peak brightness . It's all give and take with displays . So I think you are fine brother.

Antoine Butler had the 940e for 10 days and sent it back wanted the 940E so so bad it drove my wife crazy lol, a 75 inch i let my ego get the best of me 10 to 15 inch off center the color get lost bad viewing angle , one of my TVs a pioneer plasma that I love football look great so I got the Sony 65 A1 OLED, best of luck my friend

Shut x tend dynamic range to off for HDR and low on SDR. With it on high with HDR it can cause blooming. Watch a letterbox HDR movie and turn x tend dynamic to off. Notice how much better your black levels are. Especially in the letterbox bars. Much closer to oled black level. If this tv had Dolby vision then I would suggest keeping it on high at all times. Without Dolby vision(which it won't have) then off is your best option for the best black levels. It will not effect color spectrum negatively. Just gamma output. Try it off in your letter boxed batman vs superman 4K movie in a dark room. Let me know

Shockingly our settings are the same. Except with the adv, color I didn't mess with those. But I have the 3 consoles and got my HDR 4k looking nice but with the switch, especially with zelda its been a challenge battling the color washout that occurs when you dock the system while playing zelda. I've tried others tv settings, but gave up, created my own and then saw your vid which was basically the same as mine just a couple differences. I am messing with the blacks for Zelda I've noticed its a vibrant game and too bright it looks way watered down. Tho everyone says go bright but it doesn't look good so I'm working on the blacks and making some progress.

I wouldn't go bright as it will just wash it out . Try 10 brightness also gamma -1 or -2. The game also has that water color aesthetic. Also try dropping black level a notch.

+MaizeRage19x the gamma will really only dim the picture. Use the in game brightness settings of that particular game . Most times HDR dims the image and you'll need the in game settings to compensate.

Is there a way to test sharpness? Its kind of hard to see a difference between setting it anywhere from 0-50 even at 1080p. I usually look at text and try to set sharpness at the point before text gets blurry

I use 55-58. I landed on that by looking at still images of small faces. That was giving the clearest picture. But it's important to note that all the settings play off each other. So contrast, contrast enhancer, X-tended Dynamic Range,color saturation, live color, they all play off each other and can change your picture in wide range. I've had the 930E for a few months now and am constantly in the settings. More than I want to be really. I feel as though it's needed to be changed game to game. I even play on sports mode for a solid motion flow on NON-FPS games. It's like 90ms input lag but looks amazing with 120-240fps. Depending on how many artifacts you can withstand. A.C. Origins is jaw dropping in Sports with motion on Smooth and CineMotion is medium to high.

So I’m at a crossroads; I have one day to return my TCL R6 to get this TV. Rtings reports that the TCL has higher peak brightness than the Sony. However, I want someone’s first hand opinion on the Sony hdr experience. Is it too dark?

Whisper Status 74 mainly the dirty screen effect. When you pan against a clear sky or solid wall, it reveals some terrible blotches. Some vertical banding. It’s a common problem with this model. My thing is though, I’d be willing to upgrade if the Sony has better HDR

Umbrella Ops no I don't find the HDR to dark as the display is nearly 1000nits and has an amazing all around image. If the TCL is known to have poor screen uniformity then send it back

Whisper Status 74 that’s the weird thing, RTINGS reports that’s the Sony X900E isn’t anywhere near as bright as the Tcl R6. It’s hard to find a reliable source. It comes down to what the eye finds most pleasing.

i have tot he 900f. trying to go to 1080ps 120hz but whenever i click 120hz it goes back to 60hz...

Cody Winslade you'll need to set that up in the nvidia control panel or amd and set a custom resolution and save it . So it will be 1080p at 120hz xb oi x one x offers a high performance 120hz mode but not sure all games support it. Hope this helps

Sharpness at 20. RC auto?......that is a very soft muddy image setting if I use that on my 900e.

I think it was backlight at 20 for non HDR gaming. I don't think I reduced sharpness . Its an old vid and I'm sorry if it doesn't work well my friend.

I keep having this issue with my Sony x900e.... I’m on Xbox one x and when I play monster hunter world, the Witcher 3 and asassins creed origins, my characters head and sometimes the minimap will glitch?? Or flicker??? every time I move my camera (not the character) left or right. it worse when I do a full 360 :( I have my picture on standard and motion on smooth and the one below it on high. When I turn off motion, the flickering on my characters head stops, but I really really really love the way the games look with motion on.....so, is my tv defective??? Is it suppose to do that??? Plz plz plz help

gouki290 no need to worry about a bad panel my friend. The challenge is the the smooth motion feature works well but doesn't in regards to gaming. So In some games its flawless mostly in fps titles as the gun moves with you as you pan around the screen so you really don't notice the artifacting however in third person titles you will see artifacting on your character as the character is still and the camera is panning around your character which causes the artifacting or blur you see around the characters head. In those cinematic 3rd person action titles we tend to use the camera and pan around and the character is separate from the camera . My advice is to use custom and try a value of 2 and move up from there and when you see artifacting you need to move back down 1 . I use 2. RICKY RICK I completely agree Rick!! There is also no right or wrong and I've also used Qauntum settings as well and many others until I find what works well for me. I know it's frustrating but there are so many variables at play. How big is the display, what room is it in , what type of content , do you like natural or like Qauntum who really likes a super pop to his image. Your best bet is to use them all and find somewhere in the middle. I'll learn from others in the comments if this very video so I'm also open to new things. Yeah it can be confusing. Just try some and see what YOU like. That's the most important thing. I too watch Quantum as well and it can be overwhelming lol. Like Whisper said, all these settings are subjective. Everyone has different tastes so just try some out, make some of your own tweaks, and enjoy your new TV.

I've tried several settings and this is what I found to be best. I used calibration images, ask for links. *UPDATED SETTINGS* Brightness max Contrast 89 Gamma 0 Black level 50 Local dimming high Xtended range off in sdr, low for hdr, automatically switches Color temp Neutral Color 65 I also used this video to calibrate my color even further. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6mTYYaLn6uGjbM Sharpness 53 I use settings both sdr and hdr.
