the sony firmware update behavior is really s**t. they should fix that and do proper updates more often.

Bro - I think you're looking at this wrong but I do agree that "you" should definitely not upgrade because you would be doing it for the wrong reason. Most people who could afford the camera won't upgrade simply because it's the newest/latest. They would upgrade because the new features would be worth it. Of course the price is a big deal deal but most professionals will certainly make their money back and the camera would eventually pay for itself. So there's that. 2 - Not trying to defend them but Sony got caught up in bad timing with the release of the A1. They had to get it out just in time for the Olympics which worked in their favor because they sold a LOT of units but the technology of AI exploded right after and the AI didn't have the new AI processing chip that the later cameras came out with so they couldn't upgrade to that AI autofocusing. With the A1 MII, I don't think that bad luck will follow again so I would imagine that the firmware updates would be more consistent. 3 - If you don't upgrade now, your current tech is going to get old FAST. And, if you're competative, you're going to be left behind as newer cameras come in. People like Terry, can afford "GAS" - KZbin influencers at his level gets large discounts and when you factor that in with selling his older version, he gets the models at a great price.

I'm not upgrading either, LOL. I haven't owned a Sony camera in almost ten years. Happy Holidays.

If only they listened to their users and updated current models like Lumix! 😉 ..instead of releasing a new model whenever they apply a 0.0000001% upgrade 😅

AI couldn't be added to the a1... why even make that argument? that a s processor situation and a lot of people have stated why a majority of things couldn't be done on a camera that already was doing the most. its frustrating hearing points that are not valid spoken like its a fact.
