Update1: I've tested the a6300 with a San Disk Extreme Pro SD card, it performs much better. I'm not having that lag issue with changing settings. It writes to the card much faster.

Update2: Overheating test. Room Temp = 70F, I left the screen attached, I did not pull the screen out. I was able to get a full 30 min recording. I swapped batteries and ran a 2nd test, it got about 15minutes before it overheated and shut off. I tried re-running the test again after the shutdown, but it would overheat again in about 10 minutes and shutdown. I'm going to try some more test. But as it seems, their is overheating issues. This was a 4K test by the way.

Update3: Commlite Ef-NEX adapter. The focus on this adapter is much better than on the a6000. Most short lenses, like Sigma Art 35 work very well with it. 70-200 f2.8II works good, but not at 200mm. I'm finding that the adapter acquires focus much better on the a6300 than on the a6000. In many cases, some lenses don't focus at all with the a6000, but the a6300 does. Don't expect to use the Commlite adapter for sports. Great if you need an adapter to adapt canon lenses for video and maybe for static subjects and portraits. Still need to do further test.

I am planning to buy the Sony A 6300 with the 16-50 "kit" lens, mostly for 4K video. Since I need power zoom in -out, (always on a tripod) does the lens wobble or not? (I won't be using the sound) If it does not zoom smoothly, would it help to disable stabilization? Finally, if warp stabilization in Adobe Premiere is applied, does this deteriorate picture quality in any way? Say, producing wobbling video lines or so?

How do you focus by just using the shutter button when taking photos
@that1cameraguy
@that1cameraguy 8 жыл бұрын
+OfficeHanchoBoxing I'm using either single shot focus or continuous focus. I half press the shutter button. Let me know if that answered the question. I can actually change the focus points or change the size of the focus area.

The reason the camera was focusing on other folks in the bleachers was because as you mentioned that you had it on wide focus group. I would switch to spot focus for tighter tracking.

Did you get any wobbles in ur video footage? I have seen other footage wreaked by the pulsing or wobbling caused by either rolling shutter or something else when camera is off sticks and moved around in even small moves.

What AF failure rate are you gettin with the Sony, compared to smtg like the Canon 7D? Besides. Sony has a RAW converter.

whats your opinion between the a6300 and g7, im thinking of upgrading a bit from the FZ1000. I dont really know if its much of an upgrade though. I really want better auto focus for video and low light.

+ONE FILM i dont know the a6300. but already the a6000 has more dynamic range than all the canon dslrs(including fullframe)! so with the right lens this camera should be a good choice for landscapes...
@7ThrillFishing
@7ThrillFishing 8 жыл бұрын
+Titus Gärtner another reason why I want to choose the 6300 over the 6000 is the video. Is it worth it? If I get a 6000 I can get a good lens for it. If I get the 6300 I'll be using the kit lens.
@that1cameraguy
@that1cameraguy 8 жыл бұрын
+ONE FILM Get the a6300 if video is what you're interested in. The video features on the a6300 are very high end if used well. You can adapt lenses with an adapter if you really need to.

Ok; looking forward to your findings. I'm trying to really get into sports (basketball/football) and debating on the a6300 or jumping to canon. Right now I have the Sony A77ii which I like but lens selection is limited/expensive. Thoughts?
@that1cameraguy
@that1cameraguy 8 жыл бұрын
+seanehook Unfortunately, I haven't used a Sony A77ii. My go to kit when I shoot highschool basketball is an 85mm or the 70-200 f2.8 (on a 5dIII). For football I used the 120-300 Art. I occasionally have started using the 7DII for soccer/baseball and other outdoor sports and the results have been very good for me. I still need more time to give you a full opinion on it. I'm not completely convinced the a6300 is the way to go with sports just yet. It's very good though. I've got some baseball to shoot possibly tomorrow. I'll chime in on then how I think the a6300 does.

+seanehook Any more thoughts on the a6300 for sports? When is the MC-11 due out? I'm trying to debate on switching to Canon or Nikon, and if I go Canon I can get the adapter to use those lenses with the Sony E-mount as I like the features they are offering on their bodies.

I reside the majority time in the Philippines and the balance in the US. I've had experience in photography decades ago and really want to get back into it. It's come along ways since I've been out of it, any suggestions? I'm into landscapes and portraits........ The G master lenses is definitely on my list when I make the body purchase........

So yeah, the rolling shutter artifacts are there during a jittery moment... However during any shots that I would consider using for anything, I didn't notice it... I guess what I'm getting at is, when is anyone going to use a jittery moment for a final shot? Just something to consider for those who take all internet/forum/YT info to heart.

Great review, not my world, so didnt get the real world reference. My world is filmmaking, wish more people on youtube were making films with this camera so I could get a truly real world review. Already programmed by Blackmagic to worship SANDISK, pretty sure they are fast enough to handle buffering problems. 95MB/sec on most cards, doesnt always mean WRITE SPEED... Also, plan on using CAME-TV-MINI3 for my motion shots, hopefully a great gimbal system wont have the same effects you get from handheld shots in regard to rolling shutter.

How is the image quality compared to the 5D3?
@that1cameraguy
@that1cameraguy 8 жыл бұрын
