I use an a5100 for skydiving. Been looking for this because 120+ mph wind speeds like to change my shutter speed way to low from 1/800 and I start getting a lot of motion blur.

Thanks dude, had no idea it didn't work in 4k, now works perfectly in 1080p, even with a sigma 16mm f1.4 lens.

Does video show the real sharpness of a lens compared to still prints from say a 24MP camera?

I know I'm 6 yrs late...but FYI the Mac application doesn't open on any Mac...even old ones. So if you want to do this for your camera the windows gui is the only thing that worked for me. If you only have a Mac you could install virtual box and install windows on your Mac. But it worked for both my A7ii and my Alpha 6000.

Did you have any problems about the fact that the Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 has no image stabilization and also the Sony A6000 doesn't have in body image stabilization? I mean, don't get me wrong, I get it. It's rough to not have any image stabilization at all and use a 100-120mm+ lens. You gotta increase the shutter speed and etc. But, is it unusable? Or?

Great tutorial !!! Just great !!! Many thanks !!!........Problem is when you are outside, and don't have a roof or wall to bounce the flash off of, do you have a video that gives any ideas ? Thanks again.

Just a tip for the videos, put sections in them, it's already half of the video and you keep talking about the price, which is gonna be different for the people watching it in the future I don't care about the price, I want to know what's the difference and how they compare in quality in video pictures and features.

Hey, thanks for the video. Quick question. If you are doing multiple videos... are all the settings automatically saved so you don't have to do all the steps repeatedly. I have DS5300.

why do you use manual mode, just use aperture priority, limit your max ISO and use exposure compensation

For the A6000 setting for image size, does choosing 12 M instead of 24 M use larger pixels from the sensor (more light, lower noise)? or does it just add a processing step between the original capture in memory and the saving of a smaller file onto the memory card?

My inner geek was very excited to hear about the cage conducting heat away from the camera. My dad would have figured this out. He was a machinist but could have been an engineer. Great tips for any camera I would think. Thanks

Just wanted to say thank you! I really enjoyed getting to learn about the relations of these three functions in different scenarios. I am a total beginner, who's quite overwhelmed by all the settings of the A6000, but this helped me a lot grasping those concepts! Very helpful and I'll definitely use my brain after watching this! :)

This was helpful, thanks. Another approach - if you are doing long interviews or similar - is to connect the camera via HDMI to a Blackmagic Mini Monitor or similar and a laptop and record externally using Davinci Resolve. This way the camera is powered and records externally. You still need to keep a battery inside though - the camera will still use it a tiny bit - even if it doesn't look like it. Other thoughts are - recording UHD uses LESS power than HD because the processor does less and as others say in the comments - turning wifi off helps.
