Man, I can't even begin to express how helpful this video was - THANK YOU! I've had my Sony a6400 for a few months, and just about 30 minutes ago I received a pre-loved Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 manual lens, which I'm totally inexperienced with. This short video has already blown to top of my brain off - there are SO MANY cool features in my camera (and so many helpers for a newbie shooting manual!) that I'm unaware of at the moment. Thanks for this video - I can't wait to put your tricks into use while exploring the rest of your content!

Another great video 👍. Recently I've asked You some questions about a6400 and finally bought it. Yesterday, the package with camera was delivered to me. a6400 is great. It's much faster than my previous camera Fujifilm X-T200. It's my first observation. Things I was afraid of like: the viewfinder at the left side instead of center position, shutter speed regulated at the back side instead of at the top really suit me. Also when I was checking some pictures of a6400 I thought it very small but it is only bad impression. To be honest somebody designed the camera and its body and shape just for my hand 😂. I love it 😀 There is a lot of settings in the menu which my previous camera didn't have but thanks to Your videos everything becomes simple. Thank You again 👊

You're very welcome and I'm really happy to hear the tutorial helped you out. Using Manual Focus lenses are a ton of fun if you have the little bit of extra time it requires to focus. I find this really helps with the overall photo a lot of the time, because there really is no just pointing and shooting. You must take your time to some degree and the resulting photos are often better in my experience.. Jay

@fredtaylor97924 жыл бұрын
The whole thing is a game. That's why photography is and was fun but as the technology gets better and more convenient, the less of a game it becomes. Imagine a camera that can capture an image that contains ALL of the data there is to be seen at one time. Then a software that will allow you to zoom and focus on anything in that image after its been captured. So every image you take will be a perfect image of the highest quality with the ability to make any artistic changes later on. That's where I think we're headed and it's not my idea of fun.
@Jason_Hermann4 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly how I look at as well. Photography is a game at the end of the day, and you have the controller in hand!!
@Jason_Hermann4 жыл бұрын
@@fredtaylor9792 Yes, I agree. It is awesome at times to have the camera and lens do everything for you like when shooting sports for example. This way you can focus all your energy and skill on trying to track a subject accurately which can be very difficult. Trying to focus and track is really another level of difficulty. Not impossible, but hard on moving subjects with a manual focus lens.

@Jason_Hermann4 жыл бұрын
I really don't know what you mean? Are you saying you are physically turning the focus ring on the lens and it is not doing anything? If that is the case, then the lenses must need power and the focus is controlled electronically. I honestly am not familiar with olympus lenses, so I do not know if this is the case, but seems likely based on what you are saying. If that is the case, then I'm thinking you would need an electronic lens adapter that provides power to the lenses.
