Having been a photographer for 20 years, I have never had a single card failure. I've shot weddings on one card in each camera. No failures ever. I think people worry too much about the whole card slot issue. Buy a high quality card and you won't have issues.

I have only had this happen to me. That being said I use my cards a lot more than other people. I shoot video / photo every single day and it’s almost inevitable that a card will fail on you at some point. If you are doing a wedding a month or maybe even 5 that still doesn’t compare to the load i and other full time creators put on these cards daily. That’s probably why I would go down the route of 2 is better than 1, but that’s what works for me.

@@bobamarmstrong I think photographers are great at the "what if!" paranoia - been there myself! What if the lens fails? What if all the batteries are dead? What if the hot shoe stops working? We can drive ourselves mad with backing up the backups to the millionth degree. Personally I just buy the best memory cards available and retire them after a few months. If cards were to fail, you could have both fail in 2 slots if that's how you worry, then we start asking Sony for cameras with 4 slots...

@@banditalley9592 we can make the same analogy with cars and safety (seat belt). It is advised to put your seat belt in a car. But you know that you can drive without it anyday and there is no problem. But it requires one time to regret your awful decision. Someone who is serious about safety will put on his seat belt anytime. For an amateur photographer, yeah one card is not a problem because you are not shooting thousands of images and for each week. But a professional photographer will never shoot weddings or other projects all weeks with one card

@@bobamarmstrong As I said, as a professional of 20 years and using 1 card for weddings I have never had an issue, and I would like to bet I never will. I have experienced lots of times when a seatbelt kept me in a seat rather than being thrown out under heavy braking or other incident, as a driver and a passenger, so I think that statistic is a lot higher than failed memory cards. There are circuits inside the camera too, and I don't take spare circuit boards with me. It's the same with the memory inside my phone, that has never failed either and I don't take a spare phone just in case it does.

I've ran the A6000 for over half a million shutters now! It's been my automotive photography unit for 6 years and it just now got a Fuji XT3 for portriat/film sim work. The Sony stays rightfully where it shines for me though in the automotive field. I've taken images on it that rival some of the best I've seen. It pays for itself every shoot.

My dad, for part of his life, WAS a pro-level photographer. What he had to use was junk compared to what we enjoy today, and my dad took stunning photos. My ex was friends with a retiree who is a great photographer. He was walking on the beach once in Mexico and was stopped by a tearful couple who needed some help shooting their wedding. He borrowed their old, crummy camera, and shot unreal photos of the couple. A good to great photographer can take ANY camera currently on the market and make magic with it. We obsess over equipment when our time is better spent learning how to maximize our skills and artistry as photographers.

Nobody is obsessing over gear. I literally do videos with the cheapest cameras and get the same results. This is simply me showing off a new camera that I like, I like the stories you’ve shared and the sentiment. But both people in your examples were once learning photography and weren’t that good. Everyone starts somewhere and I like to show pieces of gear I think are really good. That will help create great photographers. Be that expensive gear or cheap gear.

Learning how to be a great photographer isn't going to give me the 4K 120fps I want for my videography. I just started learning photography so a hybrid like this is RIGHT up my alley and insights like this video are very helpful to me.

Sony makes incredible APS-C cameras but theres still no COMPACT quality 23mm F2 (35mm equivalent) and 18mm F2 (28mm equivalent) for street, EDC, travel and documentary shooters. These two lenses comparable in size and performance to the Leica CL and Fuji versions would be amazing especially for easy everyday carry and travel. And yes I know Sigma has great options, I own the Sigma 23 1.4 but it is large and front heavy. I just want great quality small lenses for my small APS-C bodies.

This is the main problem with Sony apsc. There are no modern small lenses except for ultra wide angle. I need a compact 23 f2 and a 35 f2. Unbelievable they don’t have this. Most videos I see on KZbin people have HUGE lenses on the A6700. Then what is the point! I’d rather take my full frame if I am carrying heavy gear

Well Sony does have the 35 1.8 for APS-C which was my first lens and it is a great compact lens optically. The only reason I sold it was because I it was too tight for me but you should really look into that one. It's the only great compact APS-C lens in specifically Sony's line up. @@tor2919

When you think about it we buy these cameras to make content, but the only think they dont offer are good software features you can do so much with the chips inside the new cameras, but they dont offer creative features like multi exposure, focus stacking and so on .... the software should be open source or have add on options, its so sad that no big content creator is trying to improve the software by using their audience

Thanks for the video and for the quick review of the a6700. This will probably be my next camera. I have been using the a6400 since 2019 and have loved using it. It will probably just become my b-cam. As I have been doing a lot more wildlife stuff, some of the AI features will come in quite handy (both for video and photos). I have however been getting full frame lenses for a lot of what I do. If I were to go FF, the Sony a7r5 would be it. But for now, the a6700 is more than enough for my needs...

Would this be an overkill for beginners just looking to get into photography over just getting an old a6000 or 6400 with extra lenses? Is the $1k difference ($1400 a6700 vs $350 a6000 , used) actually noticeable in terms of photo quality with the same lenses applied? I'm on the fence between spending that much on just the body when that money can be used on portrait, wide angle, and zoom lenses...

6700 is 100% semi-pro camera not Beginner.. beginner wil be under that price with lenses and stuff.

A6400 is enough I think. It's still a great camera even for more experienced but for a beginner is great, it offers everything that you need to photograph, record, learn the exposure, settings and all. This body and 1-2 lenses is great for start. Even the A6000 but A6400 would be better in some aspects, of course. A6700 is too expensive and it offers a lot, but at the start I don't think the pluses it offers are needed.

I started with a6400, and I still have it becasue I STILL USE IT.. I just THINK about switching to a6700 because I know TODAY my limitations, but I would never regret having this camera or taking a6700 at the first time LOL, that's not that way.. I know you look at the features but it can be REALLY high waste of money if you lose interest or you are a begginer.. PRACTISE AT FIRST. Then buy a semi-pro camera.. You forget about lenses man. It's another 1-3k$. PS: A6400 IS AMAZING camera, very underrated, IT'S INCREDIBLE FAST, with a high quality images. Understand a camera and it's functions at first, invest in yourself, then think about equipment!

I think of course there’s a difference but is that difference worth the price gap? That depends on what you want to be doing in a few years. With the video capabilities of the a6700 you have a camera that will last 2,3,4 years. Where as with the a6000 in a year you may be struggling and need to change again. I would say a6400/-6600 you can get away with it, but nothing lower than that. The a6000 I shot with was good but when scaling the image you could see the difference with the a6700. So I would aim for a6400 or above 🙏 if you can.

The a6400 is perfectly capable! I would recommend the Sony over the canon, with the canon budget range they don’t tend to do as well in low light where as Sony is good across the board. Hope this helps,

A6700 is €1699 (tax included) here but due to promotions for the camera you can get the a6700 + Sony 16-55 mm and 70-350mm lenses for €2699 (and €200 cashback). Not sure if at that price point i should be concidering trying to go full frame instead. I get that FF is better overall quality but small size is just such a convenience in getting myself to actually bringing the camera places instead of sitting on a shelf.

?? What 😂 the screen flips out from behind the camera. It’s resting place is the same as any other camera, flush with the back of the camera. Then if you need to you can flip it out.

Who is this for, let me say it personally: 1. For semi-pro users, that are on the edge of getting earnings from photography 2. For high-leveled amateurs who are PASSIONATES of photography, and feel sure to spend 2k$ for what they NEED and are mostly UPGRADING already the camera they used for a longer time. 3. For wildlife photography THE MOST, and verstalite if you buy another HIGH END lenses (to compensate resolution - then can be for other things than wildlife) And for sure, *this is not* for people who ask *"if this is for them".* If this is for you, then you know why. Simply as that. For begginers, I recommend a6400, I'd say even used one! That's a machine for begginers. And invest for a lens instead for camera functions!

Yes if you download the imaging edge app, and convert the files to tiffs it will be fine. It’s because adobe hasn’t updated from their side yet. I had the same issue.

It’s not about buying x camera over x camera it’s just about what suites an individual. People have preferences and Sony likes to create similar cameras and change something slightly to appeal to different people. It’s not a tactic I agree with but all camera brands do different things.

Rather buy canon r7 dual sd, more megapixel, more fps for photos. Sony is going to put this same a6700 sensor in zve20 which is launching soon, if that is under $1000 that would be the best video camera at that price.

This is Sony’s current “flagship” apsc camera, but let’s not kid ourselves, this is just a mid-range apsc camera (a refresh of the 4 year old a6600). It’s direct competitor is Fuji’s XS20, which, by the way, uses the previous generation 26MP sensor and yet still compares favourably to the a6700 and cheaper as well. I’m generalising here, but it seems that only Sony users claimed this is “the best apsc camera in the market” without mentioning Fuji’s XH2S, XH2 and XT5, as if they don’t exist. I do wonder why that is 🤷‍♂️

This is the forth or fifth video on the 6700 that claims it’s the Best APSC, ground Breaking APSC, nothing else like it in the APSC market. It’s apparent they have no ideal what’s going on out side the Sony universe. The 6700 is a capable camera. But, there are several that I see as better. Better in ergonomics, features and price.

I would love to work for Sony on a video and get paid! I’d be proud if they asked me! Still hasn’t happened. I had to get a friend make the introduction to a member of the team at Sony who could get me this camera for a few days max just so I can do a free video on it. I wanted to do the video because I wanted to see what the fuss was about as I used the a6000 in a previous video. Don’t be so quick to judge people!
