out of all cameras i have seen released... this one looks like it covers everything i want in a camera.. of course it does not have the super high resolution like other cameras... but for the price... what you get.. really out does most all other cameras

It's actually about 35 to 40 Raw files to fill the buffer. Using a UHS II card will clear the buffer about twice as fast as a UHS I card but not 3 times as fast as you might think.

How does the autofocus compare to the A7RIII in practice, as opposed to specs?

I was thinking Of getting this, however looking at the videos online I can't see any Improvement over the GH5 for video.. Also my Nikon D5600 apsc without low pass filter seems to have sharper Images.. I like this camera but I don't think it will beat Panansonic Video.. even the G7 Looks Incredible..

Great video....Currently have the a6000 mainly for macro and landscape photography. Looking at the a6500, or should I upgrade straight to the a7iii?

For macro and landscape you don´t really need the more advanced features in the A7III. Having said that, im also thinking on going FF cause of this camera. That would open new possibilities for me, also the dual card slot means i can do paid work like weddings and so.

Great video. One thing. Same number of autofocus points as the A9 but not the exact same autofocus system. Still of course very nice. At some point, when the next Canon 7D comes out, it will be fun to see a shoot out between the D500, the 7D Mark III, and the Sony A7 III.

Were you using the 50mm 1.8 FE lens with the A7III at the beginning monologue? NO autofocus noise but 50mm 1.8 is known for it's AF noise.

AF in low light? The 50 f/1.8 and the a7ii were super slow in low light. Would love to know if there's a significant improvement.

PepeKitaJes, the A7III has vastly superior auto-focus in addition to low light performance that rivals or even exceeds that of the A7SII. I suspect the improvement will be tremendous.

I don’t know how “debatable” the 6k to 4k oversample being “better” is. Seems pretty clear to me, for all of its flaws the A6500 has a clear advantage in sharpness and image quality over the GH5, 5Div, A7rii, etc.

thank you, i am looking for full frame dslr but that has at least 10X to 16X zoom, not sure if there is one, of course i am limited by $$, so A7 III fits my budget but i film bands and love to zoom in sometimes.

Looks great, another fine review! What's really odd though is just how utmost poorly the 50mm f1.8 handles the highlight bokeh. Yeah, it's a cheap basic prime but wowsies! The worst i've seen in a LONG while, but fair representation all the same. Excellent review though, doesn't take anything away from your content. Well done!

Monster camera indeed, unfortunately Sony lenses come with a monster price. This issue is really the only sticking point now for many people. The moment Sigma release their excellent 24-105mm for E mount will be the time I, and a few million others, decide to finally quit Canon for Sony.

Andy Moulton, AUD pricing is quoted with taxes included, is it not? Prices in North America are always quoted at the pre-tax price. That may explain some of it.
