Bought an AIII last October and am very happy. Great camera. One thing most people forget is that, although other cameras are released, the existing cameras don’t become worse. The AIII is and will be a great camera for the years to come. Thanks for the great video. As always good content!

@@Orlik2137 A7III has IBIS, just not as good. Regarding the quality, if your primary purpose is KZbin, not business clients, then the A7III wins hands down. For client shoots I just hire the A7SIII. Then I've got a lot of lenses too! And arguably, depending on what you shoot AF and Low light are more important than the bitrates.

A7 III IBIS is pretty solid considering the size and weight. You will get much more than AF and low light with A7 III.

I absolutely agree. I still have an older A7II and it’s still a good backup. While it lacks 2 memory cards, 4K video, ISO range not quite as good and generally a bit slower, it still takes gorgeous photos and video.

We just bought the a7iii a few months ago for my wife's photography. She was very hesitant to switch from Canon and after her first session with the Sony she totally changed her opinion.

Just got the a7iii last week and I absolutely love it ,its video quality is more than what we see on KZbin and stills are just mindblowing. I shifted from a crop sensor Nikon so getting Sony A7iii full frame is a great experience using it whenever I go out on shoot with it. And yes the MENU isn't that complicated once you use it, even it will save you if u put custom buttons and my menu perfectly.

Been using mine for two years now. Besides the faulty SD Card slot on mine it has been simply perfect. I upgraded from a6300. I find it kinda sad that Sony didn't update the a7iii with the improved video autofocus found on a6400 and some other models but that is not that huge of a deal. For a7iv, I would love to see a better flip touch screen with the new menu system, 4K 60p, 10bit, unlimited recording, recording to external SSD via usb c, better weather sealing and a better alternative to micro-HDMI port. Active stabilization found on some other models would also be much appreciated. I honestly don't need more than 24MP but I don't see any problems bumping it to ~30MP.

I love my A7III. I bought mine in October of 2020, used for 1700€ and i am very happy with this Camera. It is very compact, powerful and has very good Batterylife, what my older A7I didnt had. It also whent throu a lot of bad weather condicents and it still worked perfectly fine after that. Currently i use on it my Tamron 28-75 f2.8, Sony FE 50mm f1.8 and my Sony 70-200 F4. Great Video to it! Thumbs up.

A7iii is so good imo that one can shoot photos with it for the next 10 years and the photos will never be out of date. It's that good. AF and low light is magnificent.

Recently upgraded from the A7II to A7III and this camera is incredible. Would love a little more MPs for cropping but feature wise, this thing has everything you could ask for. Unless the A7iv has 4k 120p then this thing will continue being a winner.

I’ve nearly had mine for a year. Came from a G9. This is more than enough for hobbyist, this is like Sony’s version of the Nikon D750. By that I mean is that it’ll stay relevant and capable for many more years to come. Yet I will be buying another Lumix G9 because I really miss it. I still highly recommend the A7III, got mine at a sale price of $1,600 USD last year around this time. So it’s definitely worth it.

Just got this camera about a month ago. It's a huge upgrade from my Olympus EMIII mk2. The only thing i miss is the IBIS but the low light capabilities make up for it. Best upgrade is the eye autofocus which allows me to get more in focus shots! Great for children photography. I'm finding the 55mm f1.8 has more bokeh than i ever need. I also have the viltrox 85mm f1.8 but rarely use it. Next lens will be 35mm f1.8 for travel and videos.

I just want a modern High Resolution OLED / 4k Screen (like all of the Smartphones nowadays - i dont care if the body gets bigger because of that), modern Software Look with full touch control and more speed. But i think sony isnt able to create or build in good screens i think. Compared to Nikon, Panasonic or Canon the Screen Quality and Size totally s*ck

@@vtkz Yeah. Sony isn't great at making things user friendly. I'm still sad how even the latest models don't let you set custom white balance in C1/C2 profiles. Meanwhile Fuji has nice white balance controls, but zero custom profiles :/ So hard to find a perfect camera.

OLED screen on a camera is actually a bad idea. Panasonic G90 has one, but the outdoors visibility is very poor and it not suitable for referencing. Sony actually makes EVFs and screens for other brands, including 9.44 mil. dot EVF in A7S III, so they definitely know how to do it :)

Mine is completely fine, so I can't comment on that. It is the best selling camera and the shutter is the most sensitive part, so I don't think that the situations is as critical as the forums suggest.

The Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 and A7III are are exceptionally special. I find myself not using my primes anymore since I purchased the 24-70. If the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 is as good I might just keep these 2 only and sale the rest. Thanks for the review.

I was considering getting an A7III as a B-cam. But not having real-time eye AF in video was my concern. And no flippy screen, since I mainly do talking head videos. I’m still thinking about it, but not sure. 🤔

No EYE AF isn't a problem, face tracking is enough. Flip screen also not a problem use a monitor.

Great review!! If one can handle the ergonomics, this is still one of the best camera values that one can buy. I agree about the viewfinder. The viewfinder is the one feature that would be a show stopper for me. Having said that, I believe the A7S III is probably the best hybrid camera on the market. Even for stills photography. It has the the latest menu system, a killer viewfinder, larger grip, and the beautiful port doors instead of those idiot swinging doors. The other sleeper Sony camera is the A7R3. However it does not have the complete touch functionality of the S3. I don't think the A7 IV will be the groundbreaking camera the A7 III has been. Better but not the same impact. Thank you! I am fine with the viewfinder, as I have said, it is reasonable cost saving component IMO. A7S III is a great video cameras, but I don't recommend it for hybrid use, let alone photography. I have high hopes for A7 IV, I think that will have significant impact.

@@MrHD71 It depends on what the subject matter is. Birds in flight might be a problem. The other is resolution. Do you need the increased sensor resolution the Sony R series provides. If so go that route. Also, what are your needs for a viewfinder? Do you need more than 2.4mdots of EVF resolution? Determine what your needs are, and there is a FF Sony camera out there for you. Be aware that the new menu system is only on a couple of the newest versions. Otherwise, ALL the recent Sony cameras are excellent tools that have the capability to take better photos than the photographers using them.

Because of the settings. You can just increase in-camera sharpening if you want to match small sensor look of crop cameras. Advanced users usually want to avoid that.

Wouldn't the Panasonic Lumix S5 be the better camera though since it has 10bit and many codecs with raw recording capabilities with also that same sensor the only problems might be the lenses and autofocus nothing more

Generally no. It is a niche camera for low-budget advanced filmmakers. Autofocus, lenses and "ecosystem" are more important to most users.

You have not mentioned the A7iii's unreliable shutter mechanism which fails at an alarming rate rendering the camera unusable. Do take a look at the Facebook page that covers this inherent problem.

There is no reason to mention that specifically with A7 III. A7 III does NOT have less reliable shutter than other mirrorless cameras. Mechanical shutter is the most sensitive part of any camera because it withstands mechanical wear. A7 III outsells all other competitors combined, so you will obviously hear more about shutter failures on A7 III than on Z6 for example.
