I recently bought the A7s and a free Metabones (by redemption) for my Canon EF mount lenses. Out of my 9 lenses, 2 (Sigma 50mm f1.4, and Tamron 150-600mm) had problems connecting. I had to press the disconnect button and rotate the lens back a few degrees to allow the points to make contact. Metabones asked me to return the adapter for checking. I note that the distance between the points and the locking mechanism is just a fraction longer on the problem lenses so apparently there is a tolerance problem with the combination, the Metabones, presumably, being just a fraction off in the "wrong" direction.

I tried the commlite Adapter (NEX-Canon EF) with my Sony NEX 5R and Tamron 70-300mm Di VC. There is a problem with the shutter Speed. The speed is too long. In A Mode and ISO Auto the ISO will set to 3200, f5.6, 140mm and shutter Speed 1/30s...but the sun is shining. Or in manual Mode the live view is dark...reduce of shutter speed to 0.5s, f5.6, ISO 100, 140mm then you will get a display view. Do you have an idea for this problem?

The commlite adapter seems to work well with all of my Canon lenses. The only thing is that twisting a Canon lens on, makes me a little nervous because of a crunch like sound that happens at the end of the twist, I suppose when the contacts line up. Don't know if this is normal or not. Just want to make sure I'm not damaging any of my L-series lenses!

I have a question that may seem strange. With the Commlite adapter, can I control the aperture from my camera (Sony A7s) or do I have to turn a dial on the adapter itself?

David Faulkner Yes. I recently purchased the Commlite adapter. The aperture CAN be controlled from the camera to the lense, through the adapter. It's great!

So you've never experienced issues with adjusting aperture while using the Commlite? I have the Metabones right now, and I'd say I actually have control over aperture about 5% of the time. It's awful and really frustrating (especially when shooting a wedding!). I'm definitely looking into other solutions! Thanks!

the commlite works perfectly ... no issues with adjusting aperture or after changing battery or something ... works really good

so i test out all kinds of stuff regarding reflections and flares ... and when the viltrox has reflections they are more drastic and especially flares in the corners are quits noticeable... like i said before the flares / reflections are more organic / softer with the commlite that might actually help: hoocap.de/en/hoocap-r8277a-lens-hood-lens-cap-canon-lenses

Wow, still no adapters on which auto-focus isn't a problem. An affordable solution for people with a Canon glass investment still seems not to buy a Sony camera.

images are good ... not sure if metabones can get you any better images .... since i did not test one... i'm happy with the commlite adapter

I've tried both these adapters, it was actually just the 24-105 that had connection problems with the viltrox. the viltrox was my preferred look and build compared to the commlite. Its really annoying with that lense so I'm thinking about changing to the commlite but it would be good to know if the commlite is stable with every canon lense as it seems like the viltrox is fine with the majority...

Can I use this Commlite Adapter with Samyang 14mm T3.1 (EF) with Sony a7S (E-Mount)? Is it works with super wide lens Samyang 14mm? Field of view will be the same 115 degrees? with this adapter, or without adapter on Canon body directly?

+kzabost It's pretty simple: EF to Sony E-Mount or FE-mount. Yes to all Canon EF or EFS mount lens will work with any Sony E-mount or FE-mount cameras (Note the Sony a7s uses two type of lens mount, both APS-C E-mount and Full-Frame FE-mount) If your lens was made for APS-C mount cameras it will need to be cropped in camera for the lens to work, just set your a7s to APS-C on or Auto.

nope ... well it technically works but its super slow and not accurate .... not usable at all ... but thats the case with all of those EF / EOS lens adapters... even with the much more expensive Metabones!

I used Cmmlite adapter with My A7s. It was performing well but IS option wasn't working at all so I bought Canon EF Lens to Sony NEX Smart Adapter (Mark IV) which has a shutter problem. The shutter speed changes itself when zooming in or out. Going to find out the solution.

Ante Cvitanović the committee is cheap if u compare it to all the other active adapters but you will find NO adapter that does AF well ... even the more expensive ones ...

check ur lens .... IS should work..... but maybe some lenses are not supported ... not sure ... works nice with the Canon 24-105mm
