@@seandewispelaere btw I can't for the life of me figure WB set under 1,2,3 modes with gray card. To elaborate I can go to Picture mode and set my WB with gray card by taking photo and it adjusts then, but when I move my dial to 1,2,3 of course its reset back to what is saved custom wb. Also there's no option to set manually wb using gray card inside those modes. How did you resolve this?
@seandewispelaere4 жыл бұрын
@@thomashorvat9730 yea you can’t custom set off of a card in a custom setting. I usually use the AWB toggle or do a card custom set in reg movie mode and then go back to memory recall and plug in the results manually.

@@seandewispelaere yeah that's exactly what I did, just memorised details and put it once in correct mode. Pitty they don't allow wb set in modes perhaps future firmware will sort it 👍

This has to be the best Sony A7S3 setup video on KZbin by far and trust me I've watched them all! Coming from Canon I own both the SL2 and RP I thought I would never be able to set up my Sony. You took your time and explained everything like I was a two-year-old. I now have my Sony fully set up including the costume buttons 1 2 3. While I haven't learned to color grade and don't use PP I did set my custom 3 button to your profile and eventually plan to learn. Thank you so much. I got this camera as a Christmas present and it was fast becoming a very expensive paperweight. I no longer fear this camera.

Fantastic introduction! Being new to the a7Siii and Sony in general, it is clear there is a lot to learn. As a Canon user I find the Sony menu's not as intuitive, so your video was a fountain of information, Thank you. I shoot Real Estate footage most the time, which has lead me to the Sony a7Siii for the dynamic range capabilities. I use a gimbal while shooting and think the setting, custom buttons and memory recall will most likely have to be different then you suggested, primarily due to the lack of accessibility while the camera is on the gimbal. This is going to be a trial and error learning curve I am sure, however, your through introduction has given me a starting point and road map to follow. Loved your down to earth, relatable delivery and instruction. You where clear, easy to follow and warm with the viewer. Anyway, I guess I enjoyed the film....chuckling. Currently, I just pulled my Achilles Tendon, so I can not even practice with the gimbal as I can not walk, Funny timing to get a new camera. That said, it gives me plenty of time to get familiar with the menu and how to move about it quickly. I learned a lot from your tutelage, Thank you for your time. I am now a subscriber. All my Best, Mark P. S. by any chance do you know a HACK to get this a7Siii to communicate with a Zhiyun, Crane S2 Gimbal? I was very spoiled using the Canon as if gave me all the Canon controls in the body of the gimbal, ( shutter speed, ISO, f-stop, record and focus pull) but the older Canon just does not hold a candle to the new a7Siii when it comes to film quality. Thanks again.

Hey Mark, sorry to hear about your Achilles, that’s a really rough injury. Thank you for your kind words and I’m really happy to have you as a subscriber to the channel! I don’t have any experience with the Crane 2 but the RS2 can do all of that with the S3 if that helps ya ✖️🤙

W/ your C3 button setting, does turning off the display and only sending it to the viewfinder help save battery life? Like if you get a shot and you know you can let it sit while it records. So you toggle the monitor off to save battery power. Does that work?

@seandewispelaere3 жыл бұрын
I think that I know what the issue is here. I'm assuming that you're trying to find this setting while the camera is in come kind of video mode. The menu changes if you're in photo or video mode. Go into a photo mode and go to the purple af/mf menu and then the "AF w/ Shutter" is on the first tab at the bottom. Let me know if this solves it for ya.

Awesome work as usual man. Quick tip - if you get an Elgato Cam Link, or something similar, you can feed the entire LCD display (as opposed to a clean feed that you'd normally use with an external recorder) so you can record your screen selections. That'd allow you to do some sort of PIP of the menu as you go through settings and still film yourself. Either way, it works, but this may be something neat to try.
