Would have been nice if you "focused" the AX33 on the subject like you did with the AX53. The AX33 has a better build quality and has a faster 1.8 lens compared to the 2.0 on the 53. I have both, and in my basement with minimal light, holding both cams side by side, the AX33 has a slight edge in 4K mode, 30p at 60mbps. That said, I don't do much night filming, and if I do, I use a small LED head light. Yes, I said head light. They are more powerful and more convenient then the lumens you get from a Sony Hot Shoes mounted light unless you spend well over $100. I just look at the subject and they're lit up pretty good. Saves having to mount a light on the cam, and with the strap fit nicely in your pocket. But nothing compares to my FDR-AX700. Just my humble opinion.

I don’t recall now - this was filmed years ago - but I probably left them on autofocus to demonstrate their abilities.

Excellent! I was just going to search for some low light indoor situations. Thumbs up. And, yeah it would be great to see and hear your thoughts about the tripod stabilization situation you experienced.

I agree the AX53 looks better than the AX33 and it looked as if the colours are slightly better on the AX53.

did you use any noise reduction software or is this straight from cam?

Straight from cam. Wouldn't be much of a test if I'd processed it! ;-)

Hi - PLEASE REPLY - I've watched a few of your videos and am wondering which is best for Low Light filming (in HD since the 4k seems to produce lower quality footage in low light), the Sony AX53 or one of the Panasonic top models 980/990 etc? Thank you

I haven't tested the latest crop from Panasonic but I reckon I'd go for the AX53 as it does pretty well in low light, even with gain added. Certainly much better than last year's AX33.

@@UKAirscape , witch format is better for filming in low light condtions like shooting football from the pitch with bot so good lighthning, 4K or HD? I would take more zooming to bring action closer from the far side of the pitch.
