I noticed on these Sony, a sound (like a whistle) when it's reading the TOC. I noticed too that some discs make that sound while playing and I figured out that the clamp doesn't fix the disc in the motor spindle correctly. Solution: clamp has a 2mm hole to fix the motor axis into, so make that 2mm hole passant and the clamp will fix perfectly in the motor spindle and good bye to that whistle noise because it will attach the disc with more strenght.

great videos. I have a single cd player (Yamaha CRX-E150), cd tray will not open UNLESS I push in gently on the tray faceplate. Closes fine with a switch. Any thoughts on how to fix?

Hello, I'm having problems with my cdp-ce545 where when the table rotates when it comes to the next disk it kinda slows down and looks like its trying to recalibrate itself. In this video around 4:21 when you are changing disks and when everytime the table rotates and reaches where the disk gets pulled if you notice there is like a small pause kinda but mine is much slower and it kinda jumps the last few millimeters. its like hunting for the final destination. its very hard to explain and i have a short video but youtube doesnt like it when i paste links in here. Would you know what the problem might be? I had bad belts and i replaced both of them, but now i have that issue. everything works fine, plays music and all that but that hunting/self calibrating thing just isnt normal. Thank you

I have Sony five disk changer and it is similar to that one just the face plate is different. Mine will play just fine but if hit disk skip or let it get to the end of disk 1 it won't go to disk 2 it will open and close the tray then it give yo disk in slot 2 back to you but I found hit ejct to close the tray it will play the disk just fine and move on to reast of disk with no problem.

The CDs he had in there were recorded on a Pioneer audio cd recorder and they haven't been burned correctly. Reading TOC it sure made a racket, but settled down once it got into the music area. On my test disk, burned on my computer it was quiet.

Sure it's not the little belt that started slipping causing the player mechanism not to go up or down completely?

It has plenty of torque. I thought that initially, but the turntable was jammed, and once I pushed it slightly it freed up.

Isnt as fun when it fixes so easy lol Just kidding .. yes ive had this happen to one ive repaired .. usually its the owner tips the machine slightly the disc falls out of place and jams the mechanism . what you did was the way to reset the tray in them.. :) and yay its fixed

This was in a wall unit so it wouldn't tilt, and all the cables were zapped tight so it didn't move. Could have been a disk that stuck to the top clamp when it went to change disks.

Really? Still working after all these years. Should point out i know the owner so if it breaks down again he is calling me. 4 years later it still works and I know he still uses it as i was at his house working on his internet service about 4 months ago and he still has this one set up.

Mine has the simar problem cuse the screw in the middle of the disc tray is lose and it won't let me tighten it up so now when It goes to change to another disc you have a manually change it for it or else it just gets stuck
