When the deal initially went south in 2019, Disney at one point offered to buy back half the rights, and put the spin-offs in the MCU, with Marvel having creative control. Sony stood to earn a lot of money, and they would just need to front half the budget while Marvel did the heavy lifting. I could see Sony revisiting this deal, as they’re out of luck if Disney stops making films for them.

@@bloodeagle6458 True. Miles Morales, outside of _Into The Spiderverse_ and his first comics in 2012, has NEVER been a popular character. People look at those two things, and maybe the PlayStation games (though I disagree about him being well written there) and assume people actually like Miles Morales. No; he's failed in everything else besides that because the writers try to make him a woke icon when he was written pre-woke era Marvel; just a couple years before it, in fact. Also, he was written in an elseworlds universe and was never intended to be canon or a replacement for Peter Parker; that's also the _only_ time people ever like Miles, or Spider-Gwen.

It just shows how bad Sony is. Except for the animation Department. All there live action franchises failed. Let go through them. 1. Resident Evil. It was never good even by early 2000s standards. You know one came out in 2020. Never even heard of it. That's how bad it is. Same with underworld series not even putting that one under a count. 2. Men in Black. At first it was great but they clearly had no version for this franchise and lost direction. Could have reboot with a new J and K. Could have had a new agent be a half breed. That would been interesting. 3. Ghostbusters. Close but nope. New generation was a good idea but badly executed. Travel to ghost world or maybe one of the members gets possessed and becomes the villain. 4. Charlie's Angels. This franchise would have worked if you stick to what it is. A male fantasy show. But can't have that post 2016 woke era. Had to woke it up and ruined it. 5. James Bond. Same problem. It a series for male fantasy keep it that way. Keep him cool not crying. 6. Jump street. The one thing they had that was good and they abandoned it for whatever reason.

It's insane how extremely incompetent they are. How hard is it to just make a Miles Morales/Spider-Gwen universe? Or even Spider-Man 2099 or Spider-Woman? They just couldn't use Peter Parker (or rather, the MCU version of him) or the name of Spider-Man, but they were free to do anything else, and they managed to f-up this badly. This is made even _worse_ by the fact that Into The Spiderverse and the PlayStation Spider-Man games are _also_ owned by Sony! So it's not like they don't have access to competent people; they are just legitimately too stupid to know how to use them! Literally none of these executives at Sony should have their jobs; they're too stupid to even know how to hire people who know what they're doing, which at least the MCU got right in its first three phases with Favreau, Gunn, the Russos, and Perlmutter.

Sure the 3rd movie was best of them, but beside Garfield's Spider-Man, I was not a fan of having AGAIN Dr. Strange look/act like an incompetent fool. He was in the comics often regarded as a solid rock of knowledge and relyability. If Sony would sell its rights, then Universal seems like a better fit, or Lionsgate in 2nd pick. And the animated Spider-Man movies are now a freakin mess. To many characters and awfull mix of animation styles and all this multi-dimension skit is over-done. Just end this lazy plot tool. The value is in Spider-man's enemies being his enemies. Selling them back would be idiotic. What they should do is more Spider-man with his villains as villains instead of trying to make them anti-heroes. Morbius if anything should've been a villain out to acquire Spider-man's abilities. However if they really wanted to make them anti-heroes, they should've done the Spider-verse Totem story where each of them comes in contact with one of the animal totems and now Knull wants all of them to make himself stronger. But, this means no more Sinister Six as villains
