BREAKING! NICOLAS CAGE GHOST RIDER ANNOUNCEMENT | Avengers Secret Wars or Spider-Man 4?!

I am a massive Ghost Rider fan. I think that the special effects in the first Ghost Rider movie were very good given the development of CGI back then. As for Nicholas Cage's portrayal, I don't think he did it justice. Johnny Blaze was portrayed in almost a comedic fashion which just didn't land right with me. I would love them to bring in a new Ghost Rider, preferably Dan Ketch. Hell, they introduced him in Spirit of Vengeance. Hopefully, they can finally do justice to one of my favorite Marvel characters.

I liked the first Ghost Rider movie. The second fell flat, but it will be nice to see Cage return as the Ghost Rider.

Agreed. In the first movie Johnny Blaze was too comedic. They tried to make the second darker and more serious, but it fell flat. The only fun scene was him pissing flames off the truck.

In defense of the Ghost Rider Movies, 90% percent of the books were just as bad or worse than, so one could argue they was pretty comic accurate.

When the do get to a Ghost Rider recast, they could always use a Danny Ketch Ghost Rider and have Cage appear as a de-powered Johnny Blaze being Ketch's mentor. That was how it was in the 90s comics.

I could see them using Secret Wars and/or Doomsday to pass the torch on some of these legacy characters, having the old actor run into the new one. For a new Ghost Rider, I really wouldn't mind seeing Ryan Gosling play Danny Ketch, or maybe even a new Johnny Blaze. And I'm still waiting for Agents of SHIELD to get canonized.

So, I'm guessing that near the end of the Secret Wars movie the characters will settle into their 616 forms & start changing into who will be the actor for 616 going forward, with many just not on screen so they can reveal those as time moves on, but changing Blade from Wes Snipes to Mahershala Ali, maybe Ghost Rider Nick Cage with his bike to Gabriel Luna with his car, maybe even Dolph Lundgren switch to Jon Bernthal and anyone else they can confirm at that moment. Which I think could be cool, but also leave a door open to introduce the new characters by 1st referencing the original actor characters in each of their solo movies. (Probably won't happen but it is an idea that could be fun to play with.)

I'm super excited for Ghost Rider! I loved the 2 movies and Johnny and Roxanne's relationship. And with the CGI that we have now, it would just blow the roof off the house. I do wish the Spider-Man noir project was animated still with Nicolas Cage though ‼️

I can't wait Nic age was born to play Ghostrider. I was gutted when I found out Ghostrider was considered to be in Deadpool and Wolverine so am excited for this. All I need now is Ben Afflecks Dare Devil now not to be rumoured but to be announced he's back then I will be absolutely excited. Can't wait for both Avengers films now so fingers crossed for the big DD to be added.

I liked Cage's version of Ghost Rider, but I think I would much rather prefer Robbie Reyes GR. It's not a recast it's a different character entirely, and they can still bring the OG GR in for a cameo without destroying the budget.

Spirit of Vengeance was better in my opinion. Really loved the bike, the dynamic action scenes and the visual design of the Rider. His suit bubbling from the heat and looking charred was a really cool added detail.

There are 6 Movies by Marvel that haven’t yet been tied into the MCU: Ghost Rider 1 and 2: (looks like they’re handling this) Fantastic Four 2015: If Miles is in the council of Reeds, this is handled. The Ang Lee Hulk film: ? (Someone from the cast briefly in Secret Wars maybe?) Punisher and Punisher War Zone: How will they work in these? The Deadpool reference doesn’t count…too ambiguous. Throw each on a video screen briefly with archival footage or something? Any thoughts?
