Bought one yesterday. It is not marked parts only. When I plugged it up it makes a loud noise and it will not open. Do you know how to get the tray apart without breaking it?

My BDP-S3700 just died a couple days ago. I opened it and put a Blu-ray movie in the player and closed the table and then it just went black and couldn´t start anymore, even if I tried to take the power cable out for some seconds and minutes, but the player is totally black and my new Blu-ray movie I got the same day is inside the player. What can I do to make it work again? I hope it´s not too expensive and I hope it´s easily fixed. I hope you can help me!

I’ve had mine since 2016. It just started in the last few months at times not loading a DVD and saying the disc is unreadable. If I eject it and put it back in it always plays right away like normal. It doesn’t do it a lot but I suspect the DVD laser is failing. I only use it to play my classic TV on DVD collection and have used it almost every day for the last 8 years so I’d say that isn’t too bad. My previous Sony DVD/VCR lasted about 10 before the VCR started having issues. I’ll probably see if I can swap out the drive or if not just the laser assembly and keep mine going.

You're not kidding when you say these things last about a year. My BDP-S3700 just died a couple days ago, even though I barely used it at all. It was pretty much brand new and yet, it just died after little use. Even from the start it acted weird - shutting off unexpectedly, resetting itself for no reason, remote-to-unit response was ultra sluggish. It claimed to have 300+ streaming services when I bought it new but, it really only had around 20 or so apps, most of which were outdated, abandoned or just worked horribly. Time to get a new player but, seems like the market nowadays is filled with less than a handful of well-known companies offering a few cheap junk players or even fewer super expensive models. The rest are just super cheap "unheard-of" brands and models. Guess companies now think even Blu-Ray is dying and are just focusing more and more on streaming, which is frustrating and annoying, to say the least...

Mine to say after I watched the first John Wick movie to say it is a S3700 BDP that I got that was manufactured in 2017 it worked well when it was new then over the years it began to freeze then freeze and then it goes to restart as new; as to say it seems that it lasted for a while and shown it’s age to early or to say they don’t make stuff as they use to. Seems that certain products are made to last for a limited time and then you buy a new one, yet my Sony TV from 2012 still last as to say what the hell is going on with products not lasting that long? Yet I could say I stick with Sony as their TVs has lasted for a very long time yet the image quality is great. For BluRay it sucks that some competitors sell their BluRay players but not their TVs or TVs and stop production of BluRay players for example Panasonic and Samsung to say one sells BluRay players but their TVs are sold in Japan and other countries and the other just sell TVs but they don’t make BluRay Players.

mine won't turn off, eject discs, or do anything. maybe if i remove the disk it will fix it, but if not i can always take an axe to it.

I have this same problem with my SNU BDP S3700 Blu-Ray player. Do you know what´s wrong? Have you fixed yours?

@@samspencer582 I was not able to fix it. i was able to take it apart and find that it had severely scratched the disk though. I ended up getting a more reliable blu-ray player.

Yeah bought this a year ago. The last time I played it everything was fine that was a month ago. Today I go to turn it on and nothing will happen except for the power light. What a POS waste of money
