Some great shots! It is, however, clear that corner sharpness is not as good as the centre one. I don’t think that matters for weddings and event photographers, but for landscapes and travel the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 or better yet the 24-70mm GM II seem to be the better options for Sony photographers.

1:56 I love the smooth & tight switch all telescoping zoom lenses should have it, also I hate the lock switches of old

… 🧐 first: the 24-70 GM II has also the smooth/tide button, second: it’s very useful if you what shoot for a longer time at a constant focal length, much better than a useless lock mechanism.

own the original 24-70mm F2.8. The size and weight mean nothing. The lose of the 24mm does mean I still have to carry another lenses when I travel. So I would still stick with the 20-70mm F4 or the 24-70mm F2.8 GM mkii. If I was doing event work. this would easy be on the main body.

This lens is not meant for travel. For event work. 20 to 70 F 4 is still the better choice.

Expensive and big but that's expected for a F2 zoom. Definitely would be overkill for this weekend Dad shooter with my A6400. Adding in the APS-C 1.5x would make this a no go as a starting range for a zoom.

I'd like to see uncorrected images. I suspect vignetting is very high, so in the end you would probably gain 1/3-1/2 stop over the f/2.8 lens.
@TW-iu9zyАй бұрын
… no, vignetting is indeed very good.
@ElementaryWatson-123Ай бұрын
@@TW-iu9zy there is no such thing as "no vignetting", especially when we are talking about large aperture lenses.
@TW-iu9zyАй бұрын
@@ElementaryWatson-123 … I didn’t say that, I said the vignetting is good (aka well controlled) and not high. 🤷🏼♂️
