Great, I have a vertical gig coming up, and have everything setup for my rs2 even that on sticks with the base plate, makes it super easy going from stick to hand held. But thought that I would have to do it all on sticks (yc oonion pineta, fantastic btw both tri and mono check it out) due to the verticle format. And I just opened youtube for soemthing, and your video showed up, I had no idea that dji made a vertical mount for the rs2! game changer for me, thanks for putting this up. Also the fx3 cage with acra bottom, yes, nice! GREAT tips. wow talking about timing! keep it up.

Great video Josh! One thing, DJI Mini 3 pro does shoot in log, 10 bit.

Thanks. The Mini 3 Pro does not shoot in DLog. It shoots in D-Cinelike which is 10 bit but not a log profile.

Hey there Josh, Do you think shooting 4k dci in a horizontal orientation is the best option if one wants to crop that same clip later for vertical reels? I have a client that wants horizontal and vertical of the same video... I was think the 4k dci gives more mega pixels for cropping. Thank You

I usually put put the I RS 2 in portrait mode. Is there a benefit to using the adapter? Probably weight distribution?

The way I understand it is that the motors are doing a lot more work to keep it in portrait mode. I would rather balance the camera properly and have better weight distribution.

What’s the biggest difference you’ve noticed between the Mavic 3 Classic and the Air 2S?

The main thing is that the image out of the Mavic 3 is just super nice. Seems like there is some special sauce in there. Also, the Mavic 3 is a heavier drone with stronger motors making it more stable and easier to fly. I also love the controller with the screen.

Which cable are you using for the FX3 to the RS2 and which ports are you plugging it into?

I am using the USB C - USB C cable that the RS2 comes with. It plugs into the top port on the RS2, the one with the camera icon.

Yes, you can use almost any 3.5mm microphone.

So when you film and then edit, do you have to rotate your footage since it was filmed vertically? If so do you still have to scale it up in order to get it to fit properly? I’m trying to avoid having to scale as I feel it would decrease in image quality

With the FX3 and editing in Final Cut Pro, the footage is automatically viewed vertically. No rotation or zooming needed.

I am totally against vertical video and think it should be banned. The design of mobile phones are wrong and should have horizontal wide screen as default as that is how we view the world. We do not look at the world with our eyes through narrow vertical slits.

Functionality tells us that's just completely wrong. Hard to operate your phone if it's horizontal instead of vertical. Vertical videos not conventional, and most should just crop in from a horizontal shot to vertical shot instead of ruining your footage, but it's more convenient for the every day world. Which for marketing, is your larger audience.
