Sony Headphones: How to Connect / Pair to Samsung Smart TV (Wireless Bluetooth Connection)

I show you how to connect (pair / sync) Bluetooth Sony Headphones to a Samsung Smart TV. In this video i am using the Sony headphones WH-XB910N (geni.us/NP1Niw) but should work similar to other Sony headphones models like the WHCH710N, WHCH710N, WH-1000XM4, WH-CH510, WH-XB900N, WH-1000XM4, WH-1000XM, WH-CH710N, WH-1000XM3, etc. Hope this helps.

I recently purchased a pair of Sony WH-VB910N to use, amongst other, with my Samsung QLED 4K Q60B 50" TV. At present I listen to my TV via a Samsung Soundbar HW-T400/ZF per bluetooth. Now...the problem I have is not the pairing the Bluetooth Headphones with the TV BUT, according to the TV, I can connect up to 2 Bluetooth devices. So, I prefer to listen to the TV "lightly" louder than my partner, BUT, when I see on the right-hind side of the screen it shows me with which devices I'm connected with...but of course with no numbers this time, only plus and minus signs above and below. I have to turn up the volume VERY high on my Soundbar to hear anything on my headphones. When I do this, the volume on the Soundbar is approx. 3 times the level as it should be. Am I missing something here? Or are they only meant to be used separately? ie either TV direct via Bluetooth Soundbar or headphones via the Soundbar, but not both. (adjusting the volume on the side of the headphones makes hardly a difference). Maybe you, or anyone else, can give me a tip thanks. (Can't find help anywhere).

@Noctis Yic I do have sound latency on my Samsung TV with the Sony 400's, I put it down to the older Bluetooth tech in the TV and prob the distance. Any other device ie, phone,laptop, tablet I do not have latency issues.

Due to my 2021 Samsung TV software updates, my WH-1000XM4 are not working again. They instantly connect to other devices though. First it worked ok, then TV installed an update, and they stopped working for a few month through the "smart menu". They worked ok if I did a search for BT speakers each time. Then another TV update made it work again as it should, from the smart menu, but few weeks ago new update came (and I was apprehensive to install it if they stop working again) and I let it install and now the headphones wont connect. I tried soft resets to TV and pairing many times. The problem is in the TV:s updates.

I can't get my Samsung TV to connect to my WH-1000XM4's either. I go into TV settings and sound and then click on bluetooth devices, and then it searches but times out. They won't pair. If anyone knows how to resolve this, please let me know. I bought the headphones specifically to listen to TV and drown out the noise from noisy neighbours.

@@heatherboughton5936 If I try to connect WH-1000XM4 to my Samsung TV, they try to connect but the headphone's voice announcement "bluetooth connected" gets stuck like this: "bluetooth connecte-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e", and they wont finish the connection, but I cant turn them off either after that, unless I unplug the TV, because each press of the power button just says "power on". There's no problem connecting them to other devices. They are really great headphones and great noice-cancel. Thanks for your comment.

This is a known problem with Samsung TVs pairing with Sony head sets. Unfortunatly samsung could give little shit about its customers, typical Korean company. Next time buy Japanese. Weather it is your head set or your Car.

The video doesn't answer one basic question. What happens the next time I want to use my Sony headphone with my Samsung TV? Is the TV suppose to auto detect when the headphone is turned on and ask you to allow connection? Or do you have to go back into Settings and manually change sound to your paired headphone?

You tv should automatically know when you put your headphones on and a screen should pop up on you Samsung tv asking if you want to connect the headphones.

But what I've since found on a new 2022 Samsung TV is that when the headphone is turned on, the TV detects and auto connects to it but does not switch the sound source to the headphone. This still needs to be done manually through Settings. A step backwards from my 2016 Samsung TV.

@@lorenarocha912 I found that our tv doesn't support direct pairing of bluetooth devices. Our option is a bluetooth adapter. Hope this helps.

Your television might be old or doesn't support Blue Tooth. Most late model Samsung televisions from 2018 up to 2022 have Blue Tooth.

You mat have had this problem with the software update. Unfortunately there is no known fix too this. But a Philips or Panasonic head sets. But Korean companies are not known for post purchase techical support. So that is that.
