@@RobertK1993 with regards to mobile devices - Sony is a very successful manufacturer of phone components. Their phone business is irrelevant and tangential at this point. Sticking a bunch of components and packaging them in a metal box doesn't require any serious know how, it's a low margin highly competitive industry right now. But creating, say, imaging sensors - does require a lot of know how, is very profitable once you're good at it, and Chinese manufacturers can't simply copy your products.

Hands down sony is the most innovative brand! And I love Xperia phones! But man they need to step up their advertisement and presentation game! They really introduced some kick-ass features with a simple presentation! On the other hand, Apple presents a 1000$ dollar stand like it's a life-changing innovation! @@yggdrssil00 by specs i mean subpar battery (3140mah battery with a 6.1" screen) and no headphone jack these are two important features sony skimped on that they simply didnt need to. the xperia ace is 67mm ip68/67 has 90% of the battery of the xperia 5 and still manages to have a headphone jack while also being half the cost. theres no reason sony couldnt have added these two basic features (4000mah battery headphone jack) to the xperia 5. also the according to gsm arena the s8 is almost the exact same width as the xperia 5 the x5 being 68mm and the s8 being 68.1mm. by their standards the s8 is the more compact phone considering its substantially smaller. im just full of salt man been waiting for a good sony compact for a minute now and the only one they release is japan only

Sony has a great history with the walkman, and still make some of the best wired headphones, and digital audio players, it is time they add that talent to the Xperia line and bring back the headphone jack, for best in class audio. And take the crown from LG. But plastic disposable, sealed battery wireless earphones are so cheap to make and profitable, that they took the headphone jack away to tempt you to buy wireless.

The problem is phones now a days pretty much the same and does the same thing you can get a really good phone for 300,400 dollars easy and for what people use they phones for they no reason to upgrade I got the note 9 then I looked at the note 10 and I just thing is they any point it does pretty much the same thing the trouble sony is haven is that they nothing to set them apart from the competition it's just another expensive phone that does everything the cheaper phone does the average consumer doesnt care about tech specs Sony need to look at they mobile devision and just think of what can they do different
