I wish i wqs able to stream Spotify on the Portal.. BUT my workaround for that is the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explorer headset/earbuds. It can be paired with Portal and my phone simultaneously so I listen to music from my phone and game all thru the same wireless audio device. Pretty cool! 😎

Yeah same . Pulse elite allows you to Bluetooth to your phone and PlayStation link to your portal.

@xchxmpagnepxpix yeah alot of ppl trashed the Pulse elite but I have had no issues. I haven't experienced connection issues with the Elite or Explorer headsets. I love them both 👍🏾

In fairness, since buying my portal, I haven't actually used my TV for PS5 at all. It's just a good bit of kit and frees up the TV for background noise.

Ps5 pro with the portal is amazing. I really hope they offer a higher bandwidth option in the future. More and more people are able to access full fibre. It could really do with a super high bandwidth option for those people, unless there's some kind of hardware limitation preventing this. Sony please stop hyper focusing on things like, what time of the day is the most popular time people play there portal, and focus more on the actual playability of the device itself.

The first time I saw the commercial for the portal I was excited for about 20 seconds but then as the commercial went on and I read the comments they specified that you can only use it if you own a PS five At first, I was proud that Sony made such a big move because I was a big fan of the Vita. But unfortunately, because I didn’t on a PS five at the time I had to just ignore it then somewhere around Black Friday or December I saw that they did an update which was the update 4.0 which allows you to cloud stream games before I could even finish watching the commercial that information was enough for me to run to target and grab one immediately A lot of people were speaking negative on it, but I didn’t let that discourage me and I bought it in the first day. It took me a while to figure it out but then around Day number three up until now it’s been doing nothing but running smoothly and flawlessly. Fast forward to Christmas my partner buys me a PlayStation five !!! It’s amazing, but I still find myself on my portal

Playing right now in Cape Town South AfricA on holiday from Scotland. Cloud stream option doesn’t work here just immediately goes to an insufficient data speed screen (place has a 60mb WiFi speed on speed test). Connect to my ps5 is working pretty perfectly.

I recently got one for Christmas I’m honestly surprised by the connection and performance. I’ve been playing Alan Wake 2 using remote play, and it looks great and the input lag is pretty much non existent for me. The only problems I’m having is just randomly the screen will freeze on me then disconnect it’s annoying and I don’t really have any clue how to improve that. Other than that it’s a great ps5 companion

You cannot play premium games catalogue on Portal without installing the game on console and streaming it via ps5. You can use the Plus catalogue to cloud game (beta) directly tho.

you don't need internet if you're at home, they just need to be connected to the same router or network, internet speed also doesn't matter if you are using at home, the only thing that matters is your home network stability

Portal doesn’t go out to the internet when on your home network. It communicates within you local home network. This is why people’s connections vary based on how good of a home network setup they have.

I think the quality of games on the streaming part of things are worth the price of a portal and subscription if you’re into single player games and sitting back to enjoy them. There are a couple of multiplayer games to play and they’re all fine but the Portal really gives me some time to sit back and run through single player stories that feel a little more engaging with it.

I'm not a night owl but my PS5 is in my living room and with the addition of cloud streaming (literally the only reason I bought the portal) playing PlayStation games in my bad while my kids are on the ps5 or asleep is awesome and generally happens between 9 and 11 at night.

I still play my Vita. I don't have a PS5, but when you can use purchases from the digital store as a PS+ user, I might grab a Portal. I would also definitely cop a new dedicated Sony handheld should they go ahead with it, as I bought the PSP when Sony launched it (later getting the Vita). Both were ahead of their time, and the Vita still is to an extent, and I love it. The Portal has haptic feedback, which would be cool to experience.

If I could play my own games not just the catalogue on the premium plus beta, I would definitely consider getting one. I've tried playing online multiplayer games on ps remote play, and they're just unplayable unfortunately. If they could sort that it would be a game changer for me and I'm sure lots of others 🤞 hopefully they listen to the community and make these changes

I got one for Christmas and to be very fair & honest, people definitely and still have a right to doubt it at a $200 price point just to remotely play games when they can literally do the same thing off their phones for FREE. Though I like the update for streaming game it’s still at a $18 price point each month. That being said it will never be better then my stream deck and I advice people to have patience and save more for that instead even the lowest price stream deck is MILES AHEAD of the PS5 portal and don’t let these KZbinrs tell you your wrong from doubting Sony when you should because we should have more features and atleast Bluetooth compatible for a $200 price point.

To everyone saying they want to play digital library without owning a PS5! It’s unlikely they will slaughter their console sales by opening up the portal to a complete console free experience, you can play your digital library if you own a PS5. If you want to play your own digital games pay for the console and contribute to the funding of Sonys innovation. The Portal is amazing, I shelved it until the cloud gaming came but now the remote play is amazing. I’d go as far as to say it’s the greatest handheld of all time.

Given that there's already a built-in memory buffer with hardware and software processors to enable streaming, display, GUI, device security and content selection from the store, your suggestions to add search and filter functions to save scrolling randomly should be a piece of cake for Sony and they probably disabled them if anything, as these simple routines have already been written for other hardware. Chat GPT or Grok could give Sony these scripts in minutes, (with the correct programming language or variant and any hardware specifics required if not public domain or in the LLM referenced), so the only excuse after all this time might be that they simply want us to see the content in passing that we would otherwise bypass with a direct search, so it's basically a marketing strategy to level the playing field and prevent titles like GTA6 for example, dominating market share even more than you suggest will be the case or even worse for them, a cheaper or free title becoming the number one search result so most people never see the others that could generate more revenue, especially since a large demographic for the Portal are or will soon become those users on a tight monthly budget looking for a bargain or an included title to stream without even owning a PS5, thus reducing its sales relative to Microsoft's XBOX hardware platforms etc. Anyway, never mind all that; HEY - SONY; PLEASE BRING BACK SSX TRICKY AND STAR WARS, RACER REVENGE, UPDATED FOR THE PS5 AS THEY NEVER PLAYED SMOOTHLY ON THE PS2?

To make the PlayStation portal better, I really think like how for premium members to do the cloud streaming I think the PlayStation portal will be better for all users to do the cloud streaming and play offline without connecting to a PlayStation 5. I say that because to be honest, I don’t think it’s fair that only premium members could play offline without connecting to a PlayStation 5 I think all users should be able to do that.

i play gta online with my partner, she has the tv with the gta i bought years ago and i play on the portal using the streaming beta. only issue i have is that i need to connect the portal to my hotspot to play gta online, if i try to play online gta through my house wifi it will tell me the online services are down

I play mine once I feel like Inmat start falling asleep on my game & in the early morning. It’s like my in between. PS-Switch for me now.

Here in Brazil, we don't have streaming games access... if we could play our digital games directly from Portal, will be awesome!! Hey Sony!!! Look at us in Brazil! All my games are from digital library! Thx

Unfortunately you can't play GTA 5 online on the portal as cloud gaming, I really wanted to play with my Playstation friends.

It doesn't work on your home network..but if you go to a public network or a friend's network you can surely play! I did that yesterday and it worked..it's weird Rockstar still hasn't fixed that bug

Need to easily switch profiles and operate while ps5 is in rest mode. Then, the ability to play disc games. Ps5 is on, discs are basically keys, so make it happen!
