I mostly agree with you, Colton, but I think after Avengers Secret Wars that Sony really should just cut their losses and just sell the Spider-Man IP back to Disney. I say this because I expect that Kraven will also underperform so it just seems like insanity to just hold on to this when they could get a big payout from Disney by selling it. And reportedly, Beyond The Spider-Verse will be the last of the trilogy with no plans to expand, so once that film is over there's going to be nothing good left even for the animation department. The only part of Spider-Man that Sony should keep is the video game aspect.

I think a good way to re-alive Venom is to recreate that bar scene by having Peter Parker meet up with Ned and MJ there to confess who he really is and explain the whole Doctor Strange/No Way Home thing. While there, the symbiote piece could latch on to Peter, knowing that it's connected to him somehow through Venom's hive mind, and then progress into the whole Black Suit Spidey story from then on out.

You lost all credibility when you said that Sony Animation is doing fantastic. The first Miles Morales movie had horrible animation. Not design, animation. Their decision to use lower frames in their “style” was a mistake. The second movies rectified the low fps, but the movie was dull and boring anytime Miles was on screen. The cliffhanger ending was also a HUGE mistake. Sony needs to give it up already. Kraven will be the last nail in the coffin for them. Anything they create afterwards will just tarnish the brand.

@dariuschisholm7317 Granted MCU is hit-or-miss these days in which they produced some major turds like Doctor Strange and the Multi-verse of Maddness, The Marvels, Ant Man Qauntimania, The Eternals, and the painfully disappointing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (sorry dude. I did not like that movie and it felt like a huge middle finger to the 1st 2 volumes). But there have been some good nuggets such as Deadpool & Wolverine, Spider-Man No Way Home, Shang Chi & The Secret Rings, and Black Panther Wakanda Forever. Plus, a few of their DISNEY + exclusives such as What If and the Werewolf By Night Short are good. Still, compared to Sony, who clearly don't give a shit about Venom or the rest of Spider-Man by producing souless corporate cash-grabs. I am more than happy to take them over Sony. Also I never watched Agatha nor I even plan to. The show already looks like dog shit from the trailers alone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it the terms of the Sony-Marvel deal basically make it a legal requirement that Sony keep making Spider-Man movies. Like maybe this has been overwritten by newer versions of the deal, but the original deal was penned as a temporary license with the assumption Sony could use it until they stopped making Spider-Man movies. So since Marvel doesn't pump out a Tom Holland Spider-Man movie every 18 months Sony has to release SOMETHING to fulfill that requirement. And since movies like "No Way Home" are so profitable for Sony they could put out "Venom: The Last Dance" for free and still be in the black.

I don't believe that the ending of No Way Home is retconned. Just because of a different portal visual and that they didn't show the little symbiote being left behind in the MCU? No way. First off, there's no way they retconned Eddie's return to his universe via Knull now. It's just a different visual. If it's actually Knull, he should have just pulled Eddie and Venom straight to his face. Second, the opening didn't show the little symbiote being left behind in the MCU because it's irrelevant to Venom 3

If Sony wants to cash in on Spider-Man without splitting the profits with Marvel, why not make their own Spider-Man parody character? Sony would still have to pay some royalties to Marvel with their Venomverse movies, but if they make their own hero who is very similar to Spider-Man but could get away with it due to fair use parody laws and some generic uncopyrightable aspects of the character and story, then Sony could have a hit AND keep all the money to themselves. And if the movie flops, then at least they wouldn't have to lose even more money paying Marvel. Flops with the Marvel license are really bad financially. Sony should create their own wannabe Spider-Man who is legally distinct from Marvel's Peter Parker.

It also wasnt knull that transported Eddie back, it was just the same visual effect as the knull portals.
