@@crimsonlightbinder it's not like i want to say "the prices should be cut half than the flagship were being" things. i mean that it would be great deal if it compete with lower prices rather than putting so much that people doubt for this phone. keep in mind that 900 bucks xperia 1 (asides from the prebundled bt headset) have the same prices as the samsung galaxy s10+ but because the rebrand and collaboration for the fresh start from sony and they put the same price as the famous manufracture like samsung, people would buy samsung in anyways because they think that samsung have consistency.

LG and Sony are really underrated smartphone brands. Sure they are not the best, but still one of the best out there and still making flagships. Only problem I have with LG is their poor software support and wont get much OS updates. Sony at least are not just better than LG when it comes to Android updates, but even better than Samsung. LG I think is better for audiophiles though, especially their V series.

Melshi's World still plastic rubbish like all Xperia smartphones before. Had so many Sony Ericsson smartphones and later Sony Xperia smartphones in my past. Never again. I am quite happy nowadays to left Android behind. The worst is still nowadays Samsung. Apple is just using Sony Exmor CMOS image sensor tech like most other smartphone brands. Still their camera functions are better than most Android smartphones and with Lightroom you can take DNG files and enjoy the better image processing pipeline on an iPhone compared to any Android junk. PS: Android smartphones are not reliable enough, after each generation and some years you need a news smartphone otherwise apps will not work anymore also Android tends to crash so many times. Horrible Google smartphone OS... it is the hell.

Honestly, I got both Samsung & Iphone. I really like the xperia because i know how Sony made well specially in hardware, pretty solid. But the reason why i don't buy it is because it lacks of features like other competitors. @@rahulchaudhary1708 Yeah if you have hands the size of Shaquille O' Neal. I have a Oneplus 6 and the 6.2 inch screen is excessive for my use case. Bezel shrinking should have also decreased the phone size overall for 5.0 - 5.7 inch display sizes. Not further extended the display to now 7 inch monstrosities and make it our ONLY options (ala Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G). The Galaxy S10e is the only Android option I have for a "compact" flagship. And even at 5.8 inches its cutting it close. There should be more.

I had experience of using sony xperia z during its prime. The problems i faced were lack of software updates from the company. It annoyed me a lot. Hope the new phones they are launching better and frequent improvement patch updates.

This is honestly a win. I might buy the next Xperia after this if it still has a headphone jack. My Note 9 is still going strong, but I'm digging a flagship spec phone with 5g and a headphone jack. Screw Samsung for removing it.. And no I'm not cheap, I have galaxy buds+ and anker wireless earbuds. I like wired audio for various reasons. Samsung just wanted to save money by removing it and to sell more earbuds.

It's just a normal battery. LiPos have higher discharge rates but are less energy dense, and don't last as long. Plus you'd likely see Note 7 issues.

Was very excited about the XZ Premium back in 2017. Bought it in the same year . All the software bugs and the call drops made it a very frustrating experience. Sony makes good hardware but still lacking behind in the software game. This made me switch back to iPhone. I am still quite skeptical about the software so I highly doubt if I will ever buy this phone.

Exactly. I think they will, this is international phone so caters to the American obsession with size. Japan values size optimization, so they'll do something. It may not have the full specs or release internationally but should be able to buy online and unlocked. That's how I've bought all my Xperias.
