Sony's problem is that they release a new console but have no, or almost no, games that are even worth the standard PS5. Remaster after remaster and they hope that their customers will continue to accept this. How many times can you play the same game (and usually pay extra for it). If this continues, I'd rather put the money for the future PS6 into a graphics card for my gaming PC.

Nope. I have a PC with an i9 14900k (RIP me lol), 64 GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 4090 and all the bells and whistles, along with a PS5, Series X and a Switch OLED. Aaaand the PS5 Pro is still a rip-off. When you can build a PC that will match the performance, and with used parts, you can build a PC that will outperform it, the PS5 Pro is a rip-off. It's great to see Days Gone getting renewed interest. It sucks that the sequel was scrapped due to its perceived conflict with The Last of Us. The corporate thought process was that having two Sony properties in the same genre ( zombies ) would cause unnecessary competition and market saturation. If this renewed interest in a remaster, movie and/or sequel is genuine; then either Sony corporate has realized that the properties are different enough not to conflict ( fighting hordes with a motorcycle is very different than stealthing around Clickers ), or they are predicting a "downturn" in interest for the Last of Us property and are shifting gears to Days Gone as their defacto zombie IP. If season 2 of The Last of Us TV series follows the game, I can definitely see interest dropping off after a specific scene.

John Garvin is a good person, he's just making a point that it's funny how people enjoy small games - referring to Days Gone when it was released and how that was once considered to be a small game but now it's dubbed as one of the best open-world apocalypse games out there! So Deacon sitting by the tree watching the ASTRO dogs play is more of a respectable nod towards the fact that what's considered to be not popular usually is in the end and so Deacon St John awaits for the same success for ASTRO BOT that Days Gone had after launch day and I think John is just expressing the irony of it all. I firmly believe that Nintendo's action against Palworld is not so much about fear of competition but rather an act to protect the Pokemon trademark from any damage that could decrease its value. Given that Pokemon is the most profitable IP in the world this makes sense. I've learned quite a bit about IP law in the last year or so and for a media company, damage to trademarks is a danger to be avoided at all costs. I don't think they care about competition from Palworld hurting their ability to sell Pokemon games. No, it's probably more about protecting the Pokemon name itself. I mean people already call Palwworld “Pokemon with guns” It's easy to see why Nintendo is filing this Lawsuit. If I had a trademark as valuable as Pokemon I would file a Lawsuit against ANY competitor that could hurt the value of said trademark.

It's also a good way to train new hires at the bigger companies, introduce them to the tools and work environment. If you don't want it, it's very easy to just ignore them

The worry is that Sony gets over confident without a decent competitor in the game, and then over reaches itself - oh hang the PS5 Pro might be that product - £700/$700 for a console - thats a new price tier for a console to my mind, and is landing in PC territory. You know, early this year there was rumor of a Gravity Rush 2 PS5 Remaster (as well as PC). The game is eight years old this month, and that game warrants a current gen remaster far more than Horizon Zero Dawn or Days Gone in my opinion, especially with a GR movie apparently coming too, which I definitely want to go see. I might get the Days Gone PS5 Remaster regardless. I really liked Days Gone, even if it's not my favorite game of all time, and want to support that IP.

This is a collector’s item that will be for scalpers to unload, in a forced bundle at that. They’re not even making plates for existing customers. You have to buy another console or bundle, even with the slim (and makes me curious just how limited the other items are as well). The average person isn’t getting this stuff, which is kind of sad because I’ve been saying they should make this color scheme for years. It was such a no brainer. And when they finally do, they use it to prey on fomo. I actually saw sentiment turn around on the Pro with this edition, but that was short lived as good luck getting one of the 12,300. Lol.

Nintendo and their fans are such over-protective crybabies. They screech and whine any time any company has the "audacity" to do something similar to Mario Kart or Smash Bros. As if they have ownership of entire styles of games. Meanwhile, how many Soulslikes are there? No one has an issue with games like Lies of P because it wears its inspiration on its sleeve. Dantes Inferno was a blatant God of War ripoff. Its considered a cult classic. Tons of people want Dantes Purgatory to happen. People don't act like this over games that take inspiration from anything other than Nintendo games. Palworld plays nothing like Pokemon. Its no more similar to Pokemon than any of the other far less profitable monster collecting games that have come out. The Pokemon Company is just nervous this time because its gotten a ton of attention and could be a legitimate competitor and that would force them to stop pumping out half-finished trash every year. Sony are giving us remasters and remakes of every game except for Bloodborne, the one game we actually want remade. Nintendo once again proving they're the bullies of the gaming industry. Concord should be a message to the entire industry that chasing this garbage "modern audience" that doesn't actually exist and trying to shove morals in your games is a recipe for disaster. This might be wishful thinking, but I believe we've reached that breaking point where developers have woken up and realised the truth.

Firewalk is absolutely screwed. You can't produce one of the biggest failures in the history of video games and not expect there to be major repercussions. The studio lost a quarter of a billion dollars. The studio is done. They will never get out of the shadow of this failure. The hammer is going to come down hard. I feel for the low-level workers there. It wasn't their fault. They didn't make those boring characters or plan a soulless knockoff game. But I have absolutely zero sympathy for the leadership of that studio. They took a obvious losing gamble with the livelihood of their subordinates. And I have no sympathy for anyone at Sony who saw what Firewalk was working on and approved it for a quarter of a billion dollar budget.

I pretty much enjoyed days gone, but I don't care about a remaster. Now a sequel... yeah, lets go ahead and do that for once. Also, for horizon zero dawn...I definitely don't care for a remaster. I didn't like the game. Now until dawn remake, I kind of care about that buttt I would have definitely been hyped for a sequel. It just an opinion. I wish Sony wouldn't remake/remaster last gen games (ps4)🤷‍♀️

@@MrHellgate82 The decimation of the Gamecube by the PS2 looms heavily in Nintendo's mind. That console was a powerhouse, moreso than the PS2, and it was absolutely steamrolled. But then Nintendo released the Wii, which was noticeably weaker than the PS3 and 360, but it outsold both. Nintendo took that lesson to heart and set down the path of cheap, but gimmicky, consoles.

Nintendo is just doing their own thing, and making billions off of it, they have no interest in entering the competition for the PS/Xbox fanbases. With the way things are going, Sony will annihilate themselves before the competition does it, with this tiresome race to go digital. When consoles lose their physical games, is the day they're obsolete. The only reason I still have a PS5, Series X and Switch, is for physical games. When that gets taken away, I'll just keep a PC for gaming and maybe a Steam Deck, I'll have no reason to own a console.
