Apple TV has the best picture quality (and sound). When the physical 4k movies have a digital code, I redeem them on Apple TV. I know that Apple is NOT going to go out of business.

I have over a 1000+ dvd's, but instead of keeping them in their original cases, I ended up buying one 750 cd/dvd flight case (as that's all I could find at the time) one that carries 1000 cd/dvds, and then I also got 2 brief case style cd/dvd cases metal boxes. The 2 flight boxes had double-sided folders to hold the disks in, The 2 brief case style carry cases had attached folders for the disks, I also have a couple of 250 disk cases with attached folders, all with dvds in, full of movies I loved watching over the years, then when Blockbuster closed down, I bulk bought some dvds from them, my physical media collection in movies is the biggest. My favourite tv series box sets are limited, and then I have over a 1000 music cd's in their own carry case, I felt it was the best way to keep my physical media in a small space, Where as before, I decided to do that with my dvds, the collection I have was from the floor to the roof high and from the living room window against the longest wall in my living to the back wall long in only dvds. I still have my Sega Mega Drive/Mega cd console and games, I recently introduced them to my nieces and nephew, who all thought it was a video player and a stereo but they loved playing micro machines and some of the other games, I keep telling people not to let thing's go digital, but then you hear them complain because they can't find their favourite movies/shows, etc, that they bought digital versions of, they preferred all their streaming services but they soon realised that if your internet goes down you can't watch any movies or their shows ,whilst those of us with physical media can still enjoy what we want to watch.

This only applies to burning media that use burn stuff on with a computer. Pressed disc are not affected, such as movies, tv series, etc…

There is no confusion about this news it only applies to CD-R, DVD-R & BD-R, specifically in the japanese market and nowhere else. You're simply using this news for a cheap click-bait video.

No physical media for games or movies means no purchases from me and full time piracy. The technology is there to produce much high capacity discs but they are letting Microsoft bully them into a position they will eventually lose.

If they stop selling physical media, then that means certain countries won't have any way to watch films and TV shows. I live in Fiji, and we don't have Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Hulu, and Peacock. There are so many titles we can't watch. Most of these streaming services don't allow VPN and won't let Netflix or Prime Video stream their content. Disney is notorious for that. Not a single Disney title is available on Netflix and Prime Video for our region. We have to scavenge pirated websites and download whatever we can. At least with DVDs and Blu-rays, you can import them.

@@rinalsingh1258 I can't imagine physical media going anywhere and like I said, I think we'll be fine, just a lot of interesting developments that could go either way

It's about recordable/burnable Blu-Rays in Japan. Movie discs aren't going anywhere as they are becoming like vynil (and/or they already have), games might go away but there's still so many areas downloads aren't viables so they'll stick around for a long time.

I'm a fan of British and EU crime shows. 99% of those titles has no longer a physical release, or in best case a horrible dvd release with 6 hours video on a single dvd. Streaming services in my region don't have these shows. There's no longer an option to watch these shows in a legal or illegal way. So frustrating 😢

@@mrpmj00 I mean, you can say so but Apple TV isn't Apple. Apple won't go out of business but Apple TV can easily go out of business, they funnel 100s of millions into niche and prestigious movies for them to just go straight to streaming with a few also getting limited theatrical runs. It sits behind Paramount+ in market share at 8% which was looking to be shut down before the Skydance acquisition. Apple TV has one of the smallest catalogues in streaming, the smallest of the big 7. They have a great model, giving important and legacy filmmakers near unlimited budgets to make high-art pieces to build a prestigious catalogue. But regardless the business is still very small comparatively and if it does get dissolved, movies like Killers of the Flower Moon will legally go extinct. Also, Apple TV has been known to have compression issues with its video and audio, but mainly video. Physical media quite literally cannot have that problem. It has far better quality than its contemporaries like Disney+ and Netflix but still.
